JOB SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.

- Take and record residents' vital signs (e.g. temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) and monitor for changes in condition.
- Serve meals and assist with feeding residents who need help; monitor and record intake and output as required.
- Provide basic room care: change bed linens, clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas to ensure a safe, sanitary environment.
- Assist with incontinence care, toileting, and maintaining resident dignity and comfort.
- Observe residents' physical and emotional status; provide companionship and emotional support; alert supervising nurse to any changes or concerns.
- Communicate with residents, families/POAs, and the care team about resident needs, status, and any observed changes.
- Follow all facility policies including infection control, safety procedures, and resident confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid CNA certification required for Connecticut.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Compassionate, resident-centered attitude; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, turn, move, and assist residents - including bending, standing, and walking as required by resident care.
- Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment; previous experience preferred but not required.
- Dependable attendance and reliability; ability to work collaboratively as part of a care team while respecting resident dignity and safety.

Advanced Surgical Role: CABG & Aortic Repairs in a Premier CT Facility We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment near Norwich, Connecticut.
This role will cover a vacancy due to a leave of absence and departure, offering an excellent opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, hospital-based setting.
Assignment Details: Schedule: Monday???Friday, 6:45 AM???5:00 PM Call: Approximately 7???8 call shifts per month (nights/weekends) Practice Setting: Inpatient care, operating room, ICU management, ER and floor rounds Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center ER Volume: ~85,000 annually Operating Rooms: 3 fully equipped ORs EMR: EPIC Procedures & Responsibilities: Perform CABG and off-pump CABG Aortic aneurysm repairs Heart valve repair and replacement Advanced arterial revascularization techniques Collaborate with a full multidisciplinary support team Candidate Requirements: Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery Active Connecticut medical license Current BLS and ACLS certifications Demonstrated experience in high-acuity hospital settings This locum opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact at a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center while working with a well-supported surgical team.

Works Under The Supervision Of The Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. - 5. Plans For Education After Assessing The Individual Learning Needs And Readiness Of The Patient And Family. Provides Educational Opportunities And Documents Outcomes.
- 6. Functions As A Preceptor To New Staff.
- 7. Functions As A Charge Nurse.
- 8. Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
- 9. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.
- 10. Demonstrates Skill And Understanding In The Care Of The Chemotherapy Patient According To Policy And Procedure.
- 11. Demonstrates Ability To Access Port-A-Caths And Initiating Iv Access.
- 12. Administers Chemotherapy According To Established Protocols.
- 13. Adheres To Safety Standards For Chemotherapy Administration.
- 14. Demonstrates Competency In The Care Of Hospice Patients And Their Families.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred. Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records. Must Have Ability To Use Internet For Literature Searches Regarding Care For Patients.
