We’re currently seeking a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for an exciting opportunity in Thurston County, WA for the 2025–2026 school year.
Position Details:
- Location: Thurston County, WA
- Grade Level: Elementary
- Schedule: Follow school district schedule, Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school settings.
- Interpret academic instruction, discussions, meetings, and school events.
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers.
- Collaborate with teachers and service providers to ensure access to curriculum.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and professional standards.
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing materials as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and required trainings.
Qualifications:
- National Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or an equivalent certification.
- EIPA score of 4.0 or be willing to continue to work towards a score of 4.0.
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to student-centered care and advocacy.
