The Manager of Pharmacy Operations develops, plans, and implements department initiatives and services to improve patient safety and operational efficiencies. Supervises and directs the daily workflow within the department. Responsible for operations including technology and automation, staff supervision and training, medication preparation, inventory management, quality assurance/improvement, regulatory compliance, etc. Assists in managing the pharmacy in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy.

GENERAL DUTIES
Pharmacy Operations:
- Assists the leader(s) in planning, coordinating, and troubleshooting activities designed to improve the department's operations. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, policies and regulations, and JCAHO standards. Develops new procedures and processes to promote growth, teamwork, and efficiency within the pharmacy department. Fosters relationships with ancillary departments to enhance pharmacy care. Optimizes Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) policies, procedures, and operations. Assists the appropriate stakeholders with maintaining the pharmacy drug formulary and department initiatives. Responds to immediate concerns from hospital administration in the absence of the leader. Maintains the cleanliness of the department. Ensures that all cleaning logs, checklists and inspections are completed per policy and procedure.
Quality and Performance Improvement:
- Investigates incident reports (medication errors), analyze data for trends, and report findings to P&T. Develops and implements process improvements (both internally and externally) based on incident report findings. Ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and Joint Commission standards related to medication management. Oversees the narcotic and non-control discrepancy review processes, anesthesia audits, ADC overrides, and electronic diversion monitoring reports. Ensures implementation of new procedures and processes for the pharmacy staff.
Supervision/Staffing of Department Personnel:
- Supervises the scheduling, evaluating, and daily activities of the pharmacy personnel. Responsible for conducting performance evaluations. Ensures adequate staffing with the assistance of the other team members, maintaining a workload balance within the pharmacy department. Assists the leaders in FTE budgeting and maintaining adequate pharmacy personnel. Conducts and provides on-going professional staff development via meetings and in-services.
People:
- Interviews and selects qualified candidates along with the leaders to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Communicates direction and processes to department staff and mediates disputes when necessary.
Information Systems:
- Oversees and supervises the daily operations of the ADCs along with the pharmacy information system team. Works closely with and provides support to the automation team.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: 5 years of experience as a pharmacist in an acute care hospital; 3 years of experience in a supervisory/lead role.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy

GENERAL DUTIES
- Performs accurate treatment plans and dosimetry calculations:
- - Develops treatment plans in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription and instructions.
- - Uses computer planning for treatment calculations for external beam treatment and brachytherapy planning under the direction of the Physicist.
- Accurately check patients treatment records regularly:
- - Verifies the accuracy of all calculations, mathematical additions and computer plans in patient chart on a regular basis.
- Coordinates treatment simulations and tumor localizations, including CT for radiation therapy treatment planning:
- - Performs the planning and the fabrication of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges and other beam modifications needed for radiation treatments.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development and supports department goal attainment:
- - Meets requirements for mandatory hospital in-services and attends department meetings.
- - Meets requirements for Continuing Medical Education.
- - Trains/educates radiation therapy students on dosimetry rotation.
- Assists in employing appropriate and correct technique in the administering of radiation therapy treatments and simulations:

Patient Care Activities:

Provides ongoing education and timely drug information to physicians, nursing, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals by developing educational materials and competencies and providing in-services as needed.
Development of Clinical Guidelines and Protocols:
Facilitates the development and implementation of treatment guidelines, pathways, protocols, formulary changes, medication use evaluations, and any other appropriate drug information reports as approved by the appropriate committee(s).
Committee Membership and Awareness of Regulatory Standards:
Actively participates on clinical committees including pharmacy and therapeutics committee and other appointed committees as needed. Acts as a liaison to other healthcare practitioners. Fosters a good working relationship with physicians, medical staff, nursing, and other healthcare professionals. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of documenting information in the medical record, JCAHO and CMS standards, and State Board of Pharmacy requirements. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of departmental and hospital policies, and health-system initiatives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Combination of appropriate education and work experience is required:
Pharm.D. Degree with 2 years of experience in inpatient pharmacy hospital/clinical capacity or completion of Pharmacy Residency.
Preferred: PGY2 in solid organ transplant or 3+ years of transplant pharmacy experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Currently licensed or registered to practice pharmacy in Louisiana;
Board Certification in applicable specialty area preferred.

The RT-CRT set-ups, monitors and weans Oxygen Therapy and Artificial ventilation. The RT-CRT draws, analyzes and reports Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Job Description
What do we expect from you?
Reporting to the Director, Food & Beverage, the Executive Chef’s primary responsibility is to ensure a high-quality food product by supervising all Chefs and culinary team in all phases of food production.
Objectives/ Accountabilities:
- Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
- Lead an outstanding culinary team in a high volume, luxury hotel
- Be innovative, detailed oriented, quality conscious and aware of new trends in presentation and preparation
- Develop and prepare new signature items for the Hotel and/or special functions
- Effectively plan and develop menus for the hotel considering factors such as product availability, food and service cost, marketing conditions and business volume; assign prices for daily menus that result in net profit; participate in making decisions regarding printing, layout, posting, and distribution of menus while ensuring the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration
- Executive Steward reports to this role
- Works in strict collaboration with the Executive Steward in order to uphold the cleanliness and the hygiene necessary in the kitchen
- Supervise Chefs in all phases of the food production function ensuring adequate operations in all outlets (i.e. plate presentation, food portion size, visual appeal, taste, and temperature)
- Oversee daily activities such as preparation for all food items, sanitation of the outlets, receiving daily inventories, log on report, and food cost report
- Review and approve weekly payroll
- Support environmental initiatives by, when possible, seeking organic food options
- Attend F&B meetings, Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, schedule and conduct monthly department meetings
- Communicate to engineering any physical maintenance problems
- Promote professional work habits that will develop an environment of respect, integrity, teamwork, and empowerment
- Ensure the department operation budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are controlled (i.e. labor costs, food costs, expenses, etc.)
- Responsible for hiring all kitchen colleagues and conducting new hire and annual performance reviews
- Direct involvement with ongoing employee training and development; continuously provides and/or encourages employees in opportunities for internal and external training
- Follows and enforces fire prevention policies and all Hotel regulations, including those listed in the Employee Guide
- Seek opportunities to increase revenues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in the Culinary field required
- Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent preferred
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline preferred
- Complete knowledge of classical, contemporary and international cuisine
- Technical knowledge in banquet food production and presentation
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, long hours may be required
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all time
