The provider will work autonomously while having a supervising physician available for consultation, managing a diverse patient population in a provisional trauma facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide autonomous emergency medicine care to patients in a facility
  • See an average of 20 patients per day during 10-hour shifts
  • Consult with supervising physician as needed; physician is present onsite
  • Respond to house codes and monitor ambulance/paramedics via radio
  • Manage patients of all ages, including obstetric cases over 20 weeks with abdominal complaints
  • Coordinate referrals and transfers to regional centers as appropriate
  • Utilize Cerner for electronic health record documentation
  • Collaborate with a clinical team including a full-time nurse practitioner and two PRN physician assistants
  • Participate in care involving trauma, orthopedic, OB, general surgery, neurology, and urology consults
  • Interpret in-department EKGs or coordinate with cardiologists as necessary
