We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistnat, preferably with training and experience in Neurology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). The ideal candidate will be comfortable evaluating patients with concussions, headaches, low back pain, and other neurological or musculoskeletal conditions. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, including concussions, headaches, and low back pain.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments and interpret results to support patient care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Master?s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Illinois.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience, preferably in a neurological or PM&R setting.
  • At least 4,000 hours of clinical experience under a collaborative agreement with a physician.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

What you?ll do:

As an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in the Immediate Care Center, you will independently evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of acute and subacute conditions. Working in collaboration with physicians, residents, and multidisciplinary teams, you?ll play a critical role in delivering timely, evidence-based care in alignment with our academic mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for patients presenting with urgent medical concerns.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions.
  • Perform selected procedures appropriate to the clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and other care team members.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Precept students and residents as part of our academic teaching environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research opportunities, as applicable.

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
