The Department of Radiology of the Mount Sinai Health System is recruiting 3 additional radiologists for our expanding Emergency/Overnight Radiology service.
You will join a team of 9 FTEs as we expand to 12 FTEs. Our hospitals have dedicated residency and fellowship programs and are equipped with state-of-the-art radiography, ultrasound, and CT. Candidates should have a strong background in general radiology, including neuroradiology and body imaging

Responsibilities
  • 1 week on 2 weeks off average, with extreme flexibility that allows you to schedule your remote shifts to work best for you. Max 8 hour shifts!
  • Shifts are split covering 6 hospitals in the Mount Sinai Health System. 4 attendings on per evening.
  • There are excellent residents at all our sites who prelim the majority of studies.
  • Read CT, XR and US. No Level 1 trauma. No Mammography. No Nuclear Medicine. No procedures. Occasional checks on MRIs for emergent findings, but MRIs do not need to be signed.
  • Unified PACS at all locations. Great IT support.

  • This Body Imaging position is specifically for an evening shift from 4:00PM to 12:00AM.
  • Interpret a wide range of cross-sectional imaging studies including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographs of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, providing accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct image-guided procedures, such as biopsies and aspirations, to obtain tissues samples for further evaluation and diagnosis.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeks to recruit an outstanding Physician-Scientist to serve as its next Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease in the Department of Medicine. Mount Sinai is currently in the top 10-12 in NIH support nationally, and is located in a beautiful part of New York City directly adjacent to 5th Avenue and Central Park. Mount Sinai Endocrinology has satellite practices in multiple parts of New York City, and is strong clinically in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, MASH, MAFLD, obesity, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, pituitary disease and reproductive disorders, and has one of the largest automated insulin delivery (AID) system programs in the US. 

Responsibilities

Administration of the Division : The chief is responsible for the overall management of the Division including:

  • Development of strategic plans and goals for the Division in alignment with those of the Department of Medicine and the greater Mount Sinai Health System;

  • Oversight of all financial, operational and personnel issues within the Division and System;

  • Oversight of and responsibility for divisional faculty, including recruitment of new faculty;

  • Advance the national reputation of the Division through scholarship, education and innovation in the clinical environment, including as this relates to the broad System emphasis on population health management. 

Clinical Responsibilities : The Division Chief will: 

  • Responsible for the overall management of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease; including the development of an academically oriented training program, growth of the clinical program, expansion of the basic research program and the maintenance of a financially viable program and the enhancement of the clinical and scientific status of the Division

  • Administrative responsibilities include: annual performance evaluations for faculty and staff, budget reports, profit and loss reports, coordination of staffing and establishment of policies and procedures in accordance with approved departmental and school administrative policies.

  • Oversee clinical practice development, including the ongoing strategic growth of two Sinai Doctors faculty practices on the Upper West Side

  • Further development of an integrative patient-centered outcomes-oriented practice in close coordination with population health initiatives developed by the Health System such as the Metabolic, Body Composition and Sports Performance Clinic and the Clinical Weight Loss Program;

  • Maintain and further the goal of providing outstanding care to both inpatients and outpatients.

  • Responsible for physician coverage, teaching, and the organizational aspects of the division’s clinic.

Education and Mentoring Responsibilities : The Division Chief will: 

  • Bring an established record of mentorship at all levels including the ability to foster the growth of both the Clinician-Educator and the Clinician-Researcher;

  • Develop new and innovative educational goals consistent with the objectives of the System GME and Department of Medicine;

  • Support the development and maturation of new curricula in the Endocrinology Fellowship Program at Mount Sinai.

  • Responsible for all teaching aspects of the Division regarding medical students, house staff, fellowship training and continuing medical education. The educational program should include bedside training, didactic sessions, preparation of conferences and a written core curriculum.

  • The curriculum. The Division Chief is responsible for developing educational goals consistent with the objectives recommended by Residency Review Committee guidelines.

  • Responsible to develop and maintain fellowship training programs that comply with ABIM and Residency Review Committee requirements in anticipation of future site visits and official evaluations of such programs. Including maintaining an appropriate volume of patients, in-patient and out-patient experiences, teaching, research and documented periodic trainee evaluation.

  •  Responsible for developing an NIH funded research program including leadership in a Program Project or Center Grant application, successfully competing for an NIH training grant, and the development of K (mentored) awardees.

  • Responsible for fostering the career development of junior faculty members by mentoring and example.

  • Responsible for growth of in-patient and out-patient clinical services, including faculty practice.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have an MD or DO. 

  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a New York medical license and must be board certified or eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism with preference given to those with advanced degrees. 

  • Substantial experience in clinical practice development, mentorship and faculty management are highly desired.

  • Experience and achievement suitable for faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. 

  • Candidates must have demonstrated leadership experience in academic medicine, clinical practice, or professional societies.

The Mount Sinai Hospital-Elmhurst Residency in Emergency Medicine is excited to announce that we are recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Program Director to join our strong, close-knit leadership team of the PD and 6 APDs. We lead a 4-year program with 20 residents per class. Our program offers a well-balanced mix of high-acuity clinical sites and strong career development.

The emergency department is, as of this writing, days away from completing a 5-year, $80 million renovation. The latter is housed within the Department of Emergency Medicine. We are fortunate that Dr. Brendan Carr, an emergency physician and our immediate past Chair, leads the entire Mount Sinai Health System.

Elmhurst Hospital Center is a large, public level 1 trauma center in Jackson Heights, Queens that is fully staffed by Sinai faculty (100K+ visits/year). The Sinai-Elmhurst partnership has existed since the 1960's and is central to the residency identity. EHC’s unique patient population represents its location in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country, with immigrants from around the world.
