Per Diem Physician Assistant - Urology | Brooklyn Campus
The Urology team at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital provides care for the full range of urologic disorders, from the most common to the most challenging. PAs are included in a range of urologic procedures including BPH, ED, kidney stones, infertility, and urologic cancers. The urology PA is part of a comprehensive team covering surgical patients admitted to the hospital as well as performing urology consultations. PAs serve as front line providers rounding with surgical attendings, writing notes, orders, and performing necessary bedside procedures.
The Department is looking for a per diem PA to cover nights, weekends, and holidays, at least 2-3 shifts per month.
Preferred Criteria
- Minimum of one year of experience in inpatient urology.
- Masters in physician assistant
Required Criteria
- Bachelor?s or master?s in physician assistant related studies
- NYS PA Licensure
- Current NCCPA Certification
- ACLS/BLS
- NYS Infection Control certification
- DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance

Per Diem Physician Assistant - PA - Interventional Cardiology
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital provides world-renowned interventional cardiovascular care for all patients with heart diseases and disorder. Our cardiac service brings together a multi-disciplinary panel of specialists who provide a range of services from screening and diagnostic procedures to emergency and ongoing treatment. Our interventional cardiology PAs provide pre/post-op evaluation for cath lab and electrophysiology, inpatient consults and follow up including device interrogation, and pre-arrival telehealth evaluations.
The department seeks per diem PAs for weekday shifts only, 13-hour shifts, Monday ? Friday, for at least 2-3 shifts per month.

- Must have cath lab or EP lab experience

Job Description
Performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation. Participates in performance improvement, research, and educational activities.
Job Responsibility
- Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
- Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Performs daily patient rounds.
- Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
- Interprets laboratory and test results.
- Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
- Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.
- Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.
- Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor?s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
