About the Role:

• Conduct planned maintenance by examining parts for damage or excessive use, repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts, cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and testing equipment to ensure operational efficiency. May install batteries and windows on specific equipment.
• Diagnose and examine faults or malfunctions in equipment to determine repairs using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized tests and calibration devices.
• Order materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Test mechanical equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications, which may include the assembly of gear systems, aligning frames and gears on heavy equipment, and/or fitting the proper bearings for mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using control and regulating devices.
• Perform general facility maintenance and clean-up tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be willing/eligible to obtain one upon hire. Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience: Five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, hydraulic cranes, and friction cranes.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Must possess the ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Proficient in the use of computer diagnostic equipment and software. Must provide tools required to work on cranes and heavy equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Seven (7) years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, hydraulic cranes, and friction cranes.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): General knowledge and skills in marine operations, such as pile driving, welding, crane operations, barges, etc. General knowledge and understanding of basic construction terms and concepts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Purchase Orders (POs):

Create PO's, process requisitions and place orders for necessary goods, materials and services:

• Create separate PO’s for sales orders and stock items.
• Verify pricing, due dates and shipping methods (Ship Via) are correct before finalizing each PO.
• Select the best vendor for each purchase, unless a specific manufacturer is required. (‘best vendor’ is defined by price, availability, quality, etc.)
• Ensure material surplus was checked prior to placing PO.
• Ensure receipt of confirmation from vendor on each PO.
• Attach confirmation to each PO in ERD system.
• Inform salesperson if there are any discrepancies with PO (quantity, price, lead times).
• Attach any certificates to PO.
• Assist with min/ max stock levels.
• Assist with stock purchases for raw goods.

Quotes

Prepare quotes for Sales team members and/ or for required stock parts:

• Source and evaluate multiple quotes for best price, quality, reliability, and lead times. 

Return Material Authorizations (RMA)

Complete an RMA on materials that need to be returned to the vendor:

• Communications with the vendor.
• Completion of the paperwork.
• Ensure delivery to our Expeditor for further processing.

 Documentation:

• Review the MSDS Book regularly to ensure it is up-to-date and includes MSDS sheets on all products and materials.
• Collect RoHs, Reach, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, PFAS and TSCA documentation from vendors.

Sourcing and Vendor Management:

• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, both new and current.
• Research and evaluate potential vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery times. 
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to obtain the best possible value for the company.
• Create and maintain a vendor rating program, including defining key performance indicators to improve the company’s procurement efficiency and vendor relationships.

Miscellaneous Duties:

• Assist with receiving POs for direct shipments and stage in ERP System.
• Assist with attaching spec sheets and pictures of parts.
• Cover other purchasing responsibilities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCTION REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s degree (two years of college) preferred
• MUST have 3 to 5 years of working knowledge in purchasing sealing products pertaining to the Oil & Gas and Marine industries.

The position encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities across industrial, renewable, petrochemical, and refinery projects, involving meticulous review of specifications, quantity surveying, labor unit establishment, and vendor/subcontractor quote evaluation.

Responsibilities:

• Review RFQs and project documents to discern project specifics and requirements.
• Interpret engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs against technical documentation.
• Identify potential project challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Provide timely clarifications during the tender process.
• Negotiate competitive rates with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Input cost data into proposal formats as per project requirements.
• Collaborate with other estimators, engineers, and project managers.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive cost estimating database.

Experience & Technical Competencies:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation estimating.
