American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in New Mexico, requiring at least two years of specialty experience and one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Position is based in a surgical/medical-surgical nursing unit within a hospital setting
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three days per week (0.9 FTE)
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend and on-call/call-back shifts required as needed
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience
Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Minimum of two years of current Med/Surg RN experience required
- At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- English proficiency (speak, read, and write) required

- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized patient care
- Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
- Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care
