Job Overview – Senior Accountant

Compensation: $105,000 – $110,000/year + bonus

Location: New Castle County, DE

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant in New Castle County, DE for our client. In this role, you will support cash accounting, financial close, reconciliations, and internal controls within a regulated corporate accounting environment. You will partner with cross-functional teams on reporting accuracy, SOX compliance, audit support, and process improvement while leveraging technology, automation, and data analysis to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:

• Financial Close & Reporting: Support monthly close activities and prepare accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Reconciliations & Variance Analysis: Prepare account reconciliations, research variances, and analyze data to identify trends and needed adjustments.
• SOX & Control Compliance: Execute Sarbanes-Oxley controls and help maintain a strong internal control environment.
• Cross-Functional & Audit Support: Partner with internal teams and support audit, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and automation.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required (CPA preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required, with experience in cash accounting, corporate accounting, financial close, or public accounting preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB guidance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and SOX compliance is required.
• Technical Skills: Strong experience with accounting systems, Excel, data analysis, process improvement tools, and emerging technologies including automation, analytical tools, or artificial intelligence is preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, professionalism, project management ability, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and integrity are essential.

Job Description

This position will serve as the Community Response Branch Manager for the Overdose Response Center (ORC).

The ORC is the division’s near real time data analytics and deployment/operations center for responding to the opioid/overdose crisis statewide. County-based Post Overdose Response Teams (PORTs) and other assets are deployed by the ORC 7-days a week to engage and support communities through targeted outreach at the neighborhood level, and ultimately with specific individuals.

Additionally, deployment plans are made with partner agencies and other community deployable assets statewide.

Job Description:

• Four-Night Work Week (Dispatch between 8:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.)
• Weekly Minimum Guarantee of $1,450 - ($80,000 - $90,000 per year)

• Attends and successfully completes PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required. All training documentation is completed and maintained per requirements.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries as required. Follow all instructions and directions provided by driver trainer.
• Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report any and all safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight. Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
• Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks on items, scanning and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns on to trailer and secure trailer doors.
• Ensure that tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork. Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
