A registered nurse at Baptist Health is accountable for utilizing the nursing process and the training provided by Baptist Health to provide safe, therapeutic, and compassionate patient care. The nurse is expected to demonstrate clinical competence and critical thinking. The RN is responsible to know and understand the policies and processes of the department and the requirements of the organization and use them in a unified workflow with the rest of the healthcare team to create an exceptional patient experience with the best possible outcomes. A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse in good standing, and licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred. RN that is not actively participating in the Clinical Nurse Advancement Program. Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training is provided. The RN in the Neonatal Escalation Safety Telemetry (NEST) program is responsible for remote monitoring of fetal tracings for obstetric patients across all BH hospitals. The nurse provides continuous vigilance and tele-nursing focused on early prevention/intervention of abnormal fetal heart rate tracing within Baptist Health. This remote operation is staffed by skilled labor and delivery RNs, providing essential remote monitoring of fetal tracings for obstetric patients across multiple healthcare facilities. As an RN in this role, you will collaborate with bedside teams across various Labor and Delivery units within our system to provide additional observation of fetal tracings. Your primary responsibilities will include early identification, notification, and escalation of concerning tracings, while advocating for evidence-based practices and guiding fellow nurses in their professional growth.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas or eligible due to Compact state agreements. ● Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification. ● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal ● Strong clinical leadership abilities ● Minimum of three years of labor and delivery experience in a level 2,3, or 4 facility. ● BSN preferred, Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS ● Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange. ● Completion of AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring course every 2 years and intermediate fetal monitoring alternating every 2 years OR must complete intermediate and/or advanced fetal monitoring course within 6 months of employment● Must hold certification through NCC as RNC-EFM or obtain within 6 months of hire.
This position is an onsite role that involves virtual monitoring of fetal tracings for OB patients in partnership with another RN; This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.

Job Description

- Responds to emergency scenes including, but is not limited to, fire, medical, bomb threats, flooding, sprinkler system discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and numerous other types of incidents.
- Arrives on scene, performs scene size up, and relays information to central dispatch center and on-duty supervisor of current situation and any immediate needs.
- Performs rescue procedures to include, but is not limited to, vehicle extrication, machinery extrication, and high angle and low angle rescue.
- Performs fire suppression efforts utilizing fire apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and portable and wheeled fire extinguishers.
- Responds to hazardous material emergencies and provides spill containment efforts for both small and large releases.
- Responds to medical emergencies, initiates patient assessment and/or stabilization, prepares and transports patients to onsite medical clinic.
- Relays patient care information to medical personnel to include, but is not limited to, patient information, medical history, vitals, and treatments.
- Administers treatment of injuries and illnesses following established medical protocols and procedures at the emergency scene or in specialized response vehicle.
- Performs triage duties during mass casualty incidents.
- Provide standard security duties to include, but is not limited to, unlocking doors, escorts to visitors, guests, and team members, patrol buildings and parking lots, and report back to central dispatch center and on-duty supervisor any irregularities.
- Prepares logs and reports as required.
- Other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- N.F.P.A. Firefighter 1 and 2 required
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level certifications
- National Registry or State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification
- Out of state certifications must be transferable to Indiana and must be completed within 90 days of hire
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level certification.

Department: Heart Station Shift: Day Working Hours: M,T,W,F or M-F Summary:
Provides variety of sonographic images per approved protocols, maintains quality images and documentation, and responds to patient safety, mental and physical comfort.

Other information:
Registered as an adult cardiac sonographer, ARDMS or CCI, within six (6) months of employment per the NICL Initial Period of Employment Policy.

A minimum of Associate degree, Bachelor degree preferred, in sonography or related field OR registry eligible with registry obtained within six months of employment date.

Failure to obtain cardiac registry will result in immediate termination.
