It is a place where you can stroll along cobblestone streets past antebellum mansions in the morning and dine at a world-renowned, James Beard-award-winning restaurant by the afternoon. With a metro population of approximately 830,000, Charleston is large enough to host major international industries and high-end fashion weeks, yet small enough to maintain a sophisticated, coastal, and community-focused atmosphere.
Often celebrated for its pastel-colored houses and the iconic Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park, the city is home to landmarks like The Battery and the sprawling gardens of nearby Magnolia Plantation.
Cultural Roots: As a focal point of American history, the city hosts the prestigious Spoleto Festival USA and preserves a deep-seated Gullah-Geechee heritage found in the local sweetgrass basket weaving and Lowcountry cuisine.
Strategic Stability: As one of the East Coast’s busiest ports, Charleston offers the economic resilience of a global logistics and aerospace hub—anchored by Boeing South Carolina—paired with the relaxed, upscale lifestyle of nearby barrier islands like Sullivan’s Island and Kiawah Island.
Our physicians lead with a commitment to quality, access, and outcomes, and our shared infrastructure ensures they have the tools, data, and support to continually elevate care in every community we serve.
