Key Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation in accordance with Iowa regulations and organizational standards.

- Conduct and oversee comprehensive patient assessments in collaboration with the Executive Director and Nurse Practitioners.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

- Maintain compliance with Iowa HHS licensing standards and Iowa Administrative Code requirements.

- Lead preparation for and participation in state inspections and accreditation surveys.

- Implement and oversee infection control policies and procedures.

- Ensure confidentiality compliance (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2).

Leadership & Staff Development

- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel.

- Develop and deliver training to medical and non-medical staff on:

- Vital signs monitoring

- Symptom recognition

- Emergency response procedures

- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented treatment environment.

- Provide education to clients regarding medications, health maintenance, and preventative care.

Care Coordination

- Coordinate with outside providers, laboratories, and pharmacies to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Iowa.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in behavioral health, detox, medical-surgical, psychiatric, or equivalent settings.

- Experience in medical detox or substance use disorder treatment preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of Iowa Board of Nursing standards and healthcare regulatory compliance.
