Duties

During the course of their careers, Secret Service Police carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:

  • Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions. The Secret Service has determined that age is essential to the performance of this position.
  • Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
  • Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
  • Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
  • Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
  • Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and

grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.



Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:




  • Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
  • Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
  • Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
  • Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.


The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.



Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR

This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.

account coding, job review, payment requests, etc.) Maintain the Company’s chart of accounts, making modifications as required Build upon existing, while also developing, new accounting policies and procedures as required Other owner projects as requested Business and Process Management: Fully learn and understand the Company’s operations and their various business units and revenue streams.

Be the point person for operational questions with regards to how they intersect with accounting principles and workflows In conjunction with HR, Partner with Management/Owners in management of the Company’s banking, insurance and vendor relationships Develop business relationships with our operational leaders and service management; Work with operational management to develop new and improved existing processes which support our service departments Identify opportunities for cost savings and/or improved efficiency in our strategic selection of vendor partners across the organization Financial Reporting and Assurance: Publish monthly financial statement reporting package for executive leadership and service managers leveraging existing dashboards within the Company’s ERP, Sage Intact Be able to articulate and comment on any actual vs budget variances in both the overall Company results and individual departmental results Direct and manage any required regulatory filings (i.e.) corporate registrations, business licenses, personal property taxes, etc.) In conjunction with HR, oversee the Company annual insurance audits (workers compensation, general liability, automobile, etc.) as well as the annual 401Ik) audit Primary point of contact for all external accountant inquiries Works directly with the accounting department in VA to assist with the filing of the organization’s income tax returns Qualifications Technical Requirements:7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in an accounting leadership role Excellent analytical skills Expert level Excel skills Experience working with a cloud-based ERP system, and specifically with Sage Intact experience Prefer experience with Service Titan Strong level of curiosity with a belief that no task is either above or beneath you Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening satisfactory to Company which is the premier, provider of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Restoration services Interested in hearing more?
