Overview:
This role is similar to Tariff Coordinator positions, requiring foundational knowledge of tariff classification and trade compliance, with added focus on broader international trade expertise. The ideal candidate will ensure regulatory compliance while supporting strategic trade operations.
Key Responsibilities
Tariff Classification & Technical Research
- Assign accurate HTS/Schedule B classifications for complex parts by researching engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Determine appropriate tariff codes for imported products to ensure regulatory compliance.
Compliance Auditing & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify compliance gaps and manage prior disclosures.
- Develop long-term process improvements to minimize financial and legal risks.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
Trade Legislation & Strategic Analysis
- Monitor and analyze international trade laws and legislative changes (e.g., Section 301, USMCA eligibility).
- Forecast economic impacts on company operations and supply chain flow.
- Prepare and analyze reports for operational and executive decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between legal, finance, and supply chain teams to align trade strategies with corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address challenges and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Operational Liaison
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies (e.g., CBP), and vendors to resolve daily documentation discrepancies and shipment delays.
- Facilitate customs clearance procedures through brokerage services or self-brokerage protocols.
- Prepare and process timely submission of commercial documentation for import/export shipments.
- Audit vendor invoices and resolve billing issues.
- Maintain accurate records of import/export activities and documentation for audit compliance.
- Perform data entry for visibility and tracking of shipments.
Executive Reporting & Decision Support
- Synthesize technical trade data into high-level briefings and KPI reports for senior leadership.
- Support data-driven decisions regarding market entry, compliance, and cost-saving opportunities.
Additional Duties
- Undertake additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to evolving role requirements.
- Prioritize tasks and manage conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, International Business, or related field.
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and customer service skills.

Takes physical inventory of vehicles on hand Maintains records of vehicle status/readiness for sale Ensures that old age units are on the frontline Monitors what is selling and what is not selling Makes sure the vehicle pictures are up on website Inspects vehicles to make sure they are stickered properly Scans vehicles at the end of the month to ensure everything is accounted for Creates addendums and apply them to vehicles Checks vehicles in from the transport companies and inspects them for damages Processes paperwork on a timely basis Reports retail deliveries to manufacturer Keeps manager informed of inventory status and issues Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area Participates in required training Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
