Our Shared Living program matches adults with developmental disabilities with welcoming individuals or families in their community for long term, in-home placement. The goal is to have the provider family integrate the individual into their home and community life. Riverside is there every step of the way to provide support to both the individual and the provider family.


We are committed to the philosophy that individuals with developmental disabilities thrive when they are able to live in a family home. Over time, these new family members develop meaningful relationships and learn to be independent and active members of their community. This model enriches the lives of all who are involved. The individual will live in your home and need assistance with meal preparation, transportation to medical appointments and medication administration. Past experience is helpful, but not required, training and on-going support will be provided.


Pay Rate: This is a stipend-based arrangement determined by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) based on the level of need of the individual supported. Stipend amounts vary accordingly.

Position Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Director is responsible for all chapter operations including financial management, staff management and volunteer leadership, ensuring that strategies align with the Foundation's overall mission. The Manager, Quality Assurance Plant Operations, is responsible for leading QA plant operations and expertise in manufacturing plant operations.   • Transports participants around the community, to and from medical appointments and other outside appointments, as necessary.
  • Assists participants to and from the van for all pickups and drop offs. Β 
  • Uses preventative measures to maintain vehicles’ interior and exterior on a consistent basis to ensure safe transportation.
  • Notifies the Director immediately of any incidents out of the ordinary, client injuries, client falls, or accidents.
  • Works with Supervisor of Drivers to identify specific needs of each participant.
  • Removes snow around surrounding area of vans during the winter months to ensure client safety and the safe operation of the van.
  • Assists the Day Care Center Staff with local activities and other duties, as needed.
  • Ability to pass a fit test. Β Position may include duties that require wearing a face mask where a seal is critical. Incumbent may be required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state Driver’s License from the state of residence
  • Minimum 5 years of safe driving experience
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and DOT mandated driver training
  • Able to physically move and maneuver participants in a wheelchair
  • Must be a responsible, flexible team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to push patients in wheelchair
  • Ability to lift participants in emergency situations
  • Covid vaccinated preferred.
  • Mandarin speaking preferred.
