We are currently seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens assignment near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking for flexibility while delivering exceptional care in a well-established hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours with call responsibilities
• Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, focusing on both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as:
  • Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and variceal treatment.
  • ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), PEG placement, and esophageal dilatation.
  • Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal.
  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and liver biopsy.
  • Management of gastrointestinal bleeding and use of specialized tools such as the Sengstaken/Blakemore tube.
• Call responsibilities are required, with a focus on weekend coverage. Response time for beeper call must be within 30 minutes.

Requirements:

• Board Certification: Must be board certified in Gastroenterology.
• Fellowship: Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship is required.
• Licensure: Must have a valid Pennsylvania medical license or be eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience: Proficiency in various gastroenterology procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and advanced endoscopic techniques.

Additional Information:

• Privileges: Temporary hospital privileges available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days.
• Call Type: Beeper call, with a 30-minute response time.
• Support Staff: Strong support from nursing and administrative teams; no supervision of advanced practice providers is required.
• Travel & Lodging: Assistance with travel and lodging can be provided.
