Permitting Specialist (Telecom | Long-Haul Projects) – Florence, KY (Cincinnati area)

Location: Within ~50 miles of Florence, Kentucky (Greater Cincinnati).

On-site daily; hybrid possibility.

About the Role

We’re hiring Permitting Specialists to support long-haul telecom infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end permitting process—keeping projects compliant, moving forward on schedule, and coordinated across municipalities and agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of permitting activities for long-haul telecom projects, including private-property facilities and associated public right-of-way requirements
• Prepare, submit, track, and monitor permit packages with local, state, and federal authorities to secure timely approvals
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with zoning, codes, ordinances, DOT requirements, and multi-jurisdictional regulations
• Represent projects in the community by presenting to neighborhood committees and at public hearings before governing bodies
• Serve as the primary point of contact for permitting inquiries and proactively resolve issues to prevent delays

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of permitting or regulatory compliance experience (telecom preferred; utilities/construction/regulated industries also relevant)
• Demonstrated success preparing and submitting permit packages and navigating approval processes
• Ability to interpret zoning rules, building codes, ordinances, DOT requirements, and multi-jurisdiction regulations
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents (blueprints/engineering plans); understanding of outside plant (OSP) design and telecom standards
• Strong communication and public-speaking skills (community meetings/public hearings experience valued)
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and scheduling tools; ability to research regulatory updates (Quick Base is a plus)

Working Conditions

• Travel as needed for agency coordination, meetings, and project support
• Role may start remote (work-from-home) and transition to full-time in-office in Florence, KY as the new office becomes operational

• Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems • Troubleshooting servo drives • Troubleshooting servo motors • Troubleshooting machinery • Performs preventative maintenance • Maintaining Vision Systems • Perform other duties as required or requested by management.

• Associate's Degree in related field; or two to four years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Capable of reading and understanding PLC programs, such as Siemens, Beckhoff, Moller, Allen Bradley.

• Ability to read wiring schematics • Basic mechanical skills to include hydraulics and pneumatics understanding • Understanding of the work principles of sensors, proxes, vision • Knowledge and understanding of electricity • Must be comfortable performing work between 0 and 480 volts • Understanding of Ethernet and Ethercat • Basic mechanical skills to include hydraulics and pneumatics understanding • Knowledge of relay logic circuits, PMA Controllers, PID Controller and MotoMan Robotics • ze: 12px;">Basic mechanical skills to include hydraulics and pneumatics understanding • Knowledge of relay logic circuits, PMA Controllers, PID Controller and MotoMan Robotics • Experience or Training in 5's, Lockout & Tagout training, Basic Plant Safety, General Machine Operations.

• Based on competence and need, training or knowledge in Hazardous Waste, ISO 14001 Awareness, ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, ISO 14001 & Beyond, ISO 14001 Top Management, HazWaste/Operator Program Training, HazWaste Manifest and Core Program Training, HazWaste/Crisis Management Training.

Must be familiar with Quality, Materials, Environmental, and Safety Policies.
