Switchcraft is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We currently have an opening for assemblers at our Villa Park facility. An Assembler C performs repetitive assembly operations under detailed instructions.
$17.50/Hour
Second Shift 4- 10 hour days
3:30pm - 2:00am Monday-Thursday
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assembles small electronic components and cable assemblies using small hand tools and presses.
- Must be able to keep up with the pace set by the line.
- Work is normally done while seated and tasks are repetitive.
- Uses crimper to crimp cables to put into the connectors.
- Tests the final products to ensure wiring is correct.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read
- Must be able follow instructions given by team leader or supervisor
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Essential Requirements:
- Vision acuity required
- Strong Gripping capabilities
- Gripping with both hands required, however fixtures are occasionally used to hold parts in place
- Must be able to remain in a stationary, generally seated, position for over 50% of the time
- Must be able to lift 5-6 pounds

This role ensures that products are built safely, on time, on cost, and in compliance, while building a resilient manufacturing ecosystem capable of supporting rapid growth across retail, commercial, utility, and legislative-driven demand.
This leader serves as the operational bridge between engineering, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and commercial teams, translating product strategy into reliable, scalable production.
Core Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Production Leadership
- Own global manufacturing strategy across internal and contract manufacturing partners
- Establish and manage production plans aligned with sales forecasts and launch timelines
- Ensure consistent achievement of cost, quality, delivery, and yield targets
- Lead capacity planning to support demand surges driven by retail promotions, legislation, or national media exposure
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Contract Manufacturer & Supplier Management
- Select, onboard, and manage contract manufacturers (CMs) and key component suppliers
- Negotiate manufacturing agreements, pricing, lead times, and service-level expectations
- Implement performance scorecards for CMs and suppliers (OTIF, quality, cost, responsiveness)
- Conduct regular audits and business reviews to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Readiness
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all applicable standards and certifications, including:
- UL /ETL (as applicable)
- State and federal life-safety regulations
- Partner with internal teams to support certifications, audits, and change control
- Ensure all NCE Quality Control metrics are met or exceeded
- Implement continuous improvement process for quality and manufacturing
- Own manufacturing-related corrective actions (CAPAs), root cause analysis, and preventive controls

- Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions from pilot builds through mass production

- Drive COGS reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality
- Optimize labor, materials, tooling, and logistics costs
- Support margin expansion initiatives tied to volume growth and supplier consolidation
Risk Management & Business Continuity
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks (single-source suppliers, geopolitical risk, capacity constraints)
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, demand spikes, or quality events
- Support inventory strategy decisions in collaboration with Supply Chain and Finance
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key operational voice in executive planning and growth discussions

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in:

A manufacturing company in the Franklin Park area is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to support tooling and die maintenance within a production environment. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining tooling used in metal forming and fabrication processes.
The ideal candidate has experience working with stamping dies, tooling components, and precision machining equipment, and is comfortable troubleshooting tooling issues that impact production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, and fixtures used in metal fabrication or stamping operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions to support toolroom activities.
• Diagnose tooling issues and perform repairs to maintain proper die function and reduce production downtime.
• Set up and operate toolroom equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, drills, and related machining equipment.
