Job Highlights UAB Medicine’s Heart & Vascular Center (HVC) is a 48-bed unit – including open bays, private rooms, and 15 procedure labs – designed to streamline preop and recovery care for cardiac, neuro interventional, and interventional radiology patients.
Patient care on this unit supports the cath (ACL) lab, electrophysiology (EP) lab, vascular interventional radiology (VIR) lab, and neuro interventional lab procedure areas.
Staff in this unit conduct assessments and procedures that could include cardioversions, ablations, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), angioplasty, nephrostomy, biliary drains, thrombectomy, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
It's a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you are constantly learning and challenging your critical assessment skills as a nurse providing clinical care to a diverse patient population.
Plus, it’s a role where team members can experience instant gratification from helping make a positive outcome.
Staff working in the cath lab, electrophysiology lab, and vascular interventional radiology lab procedure areas can expect to be on call 5-8 days per month, including after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Staff must be able to respond within 30 minutes for emergent cases and can be given access to a room if needed.

The Role We Want You For
As Advanced Manufacturing Market Leader you will have overall responsibility for market P&L, strategic market direction, project development, sales campaigns, client relations, organizational development, and contract negotiations. This is a senior leadership role allowing you to have a real impact on shaping and transforming the advanced manufacturing market sector, by leveraging a differentiating engineering expertise to result in the develop and execute of complex EPC and design-build projects.
The Specifics of the Role
- Develop short and long-term strategic and tactical business plans in alignment with enterprise objectives.
- Develop and execute client development and sales strategy to achieve business goals. This strategy shall focus on both sourcing and building new client relationships as well as maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
- Act as a Clayco account leader, ensuring client satisfaction for future opportunities and expanded services near term. Work to resolve challenges that may arise to keep the client happy during the execution phase.
- Work closely with senior executives across engineering, procurement, and construction businesses, ensuring maximum exposure of the Company’s capabilities and the presentation of those capabilities when appropriate.
- Participate in the development of the Design & Engineering practices by providing technical assistance, subject matter expertise and industry regulatory insight to ensure client satisfaction and compliance.
- Own P/L (profit/loss) results for the Market Segment and work directly with CFO on sales projections, project forecasts and Market Segment budgets.
- Provide guidance to the project team(s) on how to maintain efficient execution processes within a dynamic and ambiguous environment, with limited information, including documenting and communicating design assumptions internally and with the client.
- Work within a matrix environment to communicate and coordinate resource needs.
- Establish and develop trusting third party OEM relationships in alignment with the Market Segment
- Recruit, Mentor, and develop Design Project Management staff fostering collaboration and proper behavior.
- Work closely with senior executives on all complex project and contract negotiations including full-scope EPC services and other Design & Engineering related services.
- Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to win new business, enhance client satisfaction, deliver outstanding project outcomes, and scale the business through acquiring new customers, expanding services, and exploring new opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or other related technical degree; or significant field experience that has evolved into leadership roles over time.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in EPC delivery of advanced manufacturing projects, with a strong track record managing individual projects valued at $250M or more.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of construction costs and cost drivers, both at the project and unit level. Proficient in contract negotiation and administration.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent. Strong ability to navigate complex challenges, resolve conflicts, and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Business Acumen: Entrepreneurial drive with a passion for business development, coupled with a keen understanding of customer decision-making processes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver impactful presentations and build consensus across internal and external teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components, identify core issues, and develop innovative solutions. Skilled in prioritizing critical details and managing multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities
As an Aviation Electronics Technician (AT), you'll maintain, troubleshoot, repair and test complex electronic systems related to aviation on tactical jets, fixed wing aircraft or rotary winged helicopter systems. In this role, you can expect to work with systems including digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar, laser electronics, navigation, pressure indication, and electrical power generation and distribution. Additional responsibilities may include:
- Installing modifications to aircraft electronic systems
- Performing micro-miniature module repair on computer circuit cards
- Performing electrical diagnostics
- Reading electrical system diagrams
- Repairing and maintaining power generators and electric motors
- Performing scheduled maintenance and corrosion control
Work Environment
Sailors in this career field will perform duties at sea and ashore around the world. ATs can expect to work indoors and outdoors in land-based aircraft squadrons and aboard aircraft carriers. You may work in a shop environment, clean lab, airplane hangar or office environment.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes(known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including:
Class "A" Technical School (19 weeks) in Pensacola, FL, for training in basic aviation theory and technical knowledge, aviation electrical systems, and electrical and electronics theory and skills.
After you complete training, you may be assigned to a naval air station, squadron, aircraft carrier or other aviation facility. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.
Advanced Training
Advanced training as an Aviation Electronics Technician may also be available during later stages of your career. For those with further leadership aspirations and a college degree, Officerroles may be available, providing opportunities to lead and train others.
Post-Service Opportunities
Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian world, such as employment with airlines or aircraft manufacturers.
Education Opportunities
Beyond offering access to professional credentials and certifications, Navy technical and operational training as an Aviation Electronics Technician can translate to credit hours toward a bachelor's or associate degree through the American Council on Education.
You may also continue your education through undergraduate degree opportunities like the Navy College Program and Tuition Assistance and the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
Qualifications & Requirements
A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to become an Enlisted Sailor and an Aviation Electronics Technician. You must also be a U.S. citizen eligible for security clearance.
AT applicants should have an interest in aviation, working with aircraft, electrical systems and computer systems. You should be competent working with tools, equipment and machines to perform detailed precision work. Strong arithmetic, writing, speaking and academic study skills are also necessary. Important physical attributes include a high level of manual dexterity and physical fitness.
General qualifications may vary depending upon whether you're currently serving , whether you've served before or whether you've never served before .
Part-Time Opportunities
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Aviation Electronics Technicians in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, you may serve anywhere in the world, including locations in the U.S., at bases overseas, or in areas where humanitarian needs are great.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.
Aviation Electronics Technicians in the Navy Reserve serve in an Enlisted role. Before receiving the ongoing professional training that comes with the job, initial training requirements must be met.
For current or former military Enlisted service members, prior experience satisfies the initial Recruit Training requirement, so you will not need to go through Boot Camp again.
For those without prior military experience, you will need to meet the initial Recruit Training requirement by attending Boot Camp in Great Lakes, IL. This training course will prepare you for service in the Navy Reserve and count as your first Annual Training.
