Job Details:

- Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours with call responsibilities
- Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, focusing on both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and variceal treatment.
- ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), PEG placement, and esophageal dilatation.
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal.
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and liver biopsy.
- Management of gastrointestinal bleeding and use of specialized tools such as the Sengstaken/Blakemore tube.
- Call responsibilities are required, with a focus on weekend coverage. Response time for beeper call must be within 30 minutes.
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Must be board certified in Gastroenterology.
- Fellowship: Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship is required.
- Licensure: Must have a valid Pennsylvania medical license or be eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
- Experience: Proficiency in various gastroenterology procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and advanced endoscopic techniques.
Additional Information:
- Privileges: Temporary hospital privileges available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days.
- Call Type: Beeper call, with a 30-minute response time.
- Support Staff: Strong support from nursing and administrative teams; no supervision of advanced practice providers is required.
- Travel & Lodging: Assistance with travel and lodging can be provided.
