The Lead, Pharmacy Technician is responsible for monitoring and prioritizing the medication dispensing workflow at the market level for all Medication and Pharmacy Technicians. In accordance with state and federal regulations, the incumbent in this role assists the Medication/Pharmacy Techs as well as, physicians and clinicians in the performance of dispensing functions under the Physician Dispensing protocol while adhering to company policies and procedures. He/She facilitates the implementation of policies and procedures and ensures compliance with quality standards. The Lead, Pharmacy Technician ensures that Medication/Pharmacy Technicians have the resources and training necessary to perform their jobs effectively.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in and assists with implementing processes that improve Medication Adherence in our Centers.
  • Aids in the implementation of pharmacy objectives as determined by market leadership in partnership with the corporate Medication COE team.
  • Takes part in the employment cycle of Pharmacy/Medication Techs by participating in the recruitment process, screening of candidates and interviews.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of Pharmacy/ Medication Techs led by the Care Supervisors in partnership with the Center Manager.
  • Trains new and existing personnel on medication dispensing and medication adherence processes.
  • Meets with Med/Pharm Techs on a weekly basis or as needed to ensure a successful and efficient Medication Adherence/HEDIS Part D program.
  • Collaborates with the Market Clinical Manager to balance Pharm/Med Tech staffing across the market to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Reviews medication incident reports and identifies opportunities for improvement to prevent future errors.
  • Escalates significant issues to the attention of market leadership with recommendations for solutions while maintaining open communication with Medication COE for additional support, tools and resources.
  • Collaborates with market leadership to support the growth and development of Med/Pharm Techs by providing continual feedback regarding performance.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Participates in quality self-assessments. Participates in the development of action plans for identified areas of opportunity.
  • Meets with Medication COE, HEDIS and Clinical Operations/Quality on a monthly basis or as needed to report feedback.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable and trained on all medication dispensing processes under the Physician Dispensing protocol in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of ChenMed, JenCare and or Dedicated Senior Medical Centers products, services, standards, policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate and work well with providers, patients and other team members in a professional manner

  • Ability and willingness to travel locally 80% of the time; regionally and nationwide (up to 20%) to assigned markets for training, med dispensing support and periodic check-ins

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate and/or Bachelor degree in a related field preferred

  • Pharmacy Technician State Registration required (based on state laws)

  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or mail order setting required

  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a medication/pharmacy technician at a Chenmed company center preferred

  • This position requires possession and maintenance of a current, valid Driver’s License

  • PTCB certification preferred

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers desired

  • Experience leading and developing team members or leading and supporting successful projects

PAY RANGE:

$18.5 - $26.45 Hourly

The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.

The Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) is one of a patient’s first contact with our ChenMed family and, as such, serves as a patient advocate delivering and providing exceptional customer service. The incumbent in this role checks patients in to and out of the medical clinic and provides basic secretarial and administrative support. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interacts appropriately with patients and records information while greeting, checking-in, checking-out or scheduling appointments for patients. Conducts lobby checks to ensure organization and cleanliness.

  • Serves as the gatekeeper for PCP and Specialists schedules including, but not limited to ensuring Top 40 patients are scheduled every 13 days.

  • Utilizes computer equipment and programs to add new patient information, prints out relevant forms for processing, schedule appointments, respond to emails and generate New Patient packets. Ensures patient contact and emergency contact information is accurately documented in the system.

  • Conducts “love” calls, mails birthday and greeting cards to patients commemorating special events.

  • Answers telephones, takes detailed and accurate messages, and ensures messages are directed to the appropriate individual.

  • Verifies patient insurance via phone or website and collects any necessary copays for services. Assists with scheduling follow-up and in-house Specialist referral appointments, when necessary.

  • Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures their comfort and well-bring prior to leaving.

  • Acts as HEDIS champion for the PCP by providing visibility of HEDIS needs for scheduled patients. Reports on hospitalizations including HITS census, ENS Ping, etc.

  • Presents patients with customer service survey during check out and escalates if needed for immediate service recovery.

  • Participates in daily and weekly huddles to provide details on patients.

  • Regulates and monitors aspects of transportation, including: Driver’s lists/patients, medication deliveries, grocery deliveries, driver’s behavioral challenges, scheduling and coordinating Uber/Lyft rides for patients.
