The position of Estimator should be capable of preparing proposals for all types of projects. An individual in this position shall have experience in their understanding of the means and methods required for completion of various types of construction. A successful Estimator shall be able to complete all required take-offs, Requests for Proposal package reviews, and site reviews required to prepare any proposal. This position will attend project related meetings and site visits when required, complete site visits and scope discussions with assigned Superintendent or his designee, and clearly communicate the project requirements and basis for their estimate during bid reviews.
Responsibilities
- Estimating HV/MV Substation/Transmission projects Utility-scale, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), GIS and renewable energy and HV/MV utility projects
- Collaborating closely with the Preconstruction team, Project Managers, Purchasing, and Engineering and superintendents.
- Conducting material & labor take-offs for all categories above
- Analyzing blueprints.
- Determining the amount, type, and cost of materials and equipment needed for each project.
- Determining the amount of labor required to complete each project.
- Determining the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions.
- Providing viable solutions to increase project profitability.
- Regularly updating cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.
- Evaluating labor and material costs to determine whether it is more feasible to construct electrical components or sub-contract the construction of components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or similar experience in construction management, engineering, math, science, or years in the trade and prior estimating experience
- Strongly preferred proficiency in use of required computer software (Microsoft Suite inclusive of Visio, Project, OneDrive, along with Online Client Portals and Oracle Primavera P6) – Specifically Microsoft Excel, and estimating software such as: EBM & Accubid
- Proficiency in independently preparing standard proposals.
- Good oral and written communication skills relevant to internal and external discussions.

- Maintains dental supplies inventory by auditing stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Manage resources by preparing supplies with minimum waste or need for duplication.
- Ensure all dental equipment is working properly by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
- Assists dentist diagnosis by exposing and processing digital dental radiographs.
- Assist with education of patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Able to multitask, be detail oriented and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical and dental terminology.

- Must have state radiation license or certificate.
- Must have good computer skills and medical terminology experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing, walking, pushing and stooping on a periodic basis. Frequent lifting requirements vary depending upon specialty division hired for. (Dental: 50 pounds or more.) Must be able to push patients in wheelchair. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
