The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare has opportunities for  BC/BE Neurologists  to join our team of  Neurohospitalists  at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT (156 beds) and The Hospital of Central Connecticut with campuses in New Britain, CT and Southington, CT (414 beds). Both hospitals are Joint-Commission certified Primary Stroke Centers.

Highlights of the position:

Neurology in the Central Region is a consultative service only. Duties involve working up and caring for a wide range of acute neurological issues in the Emergency Department, medical and surgical floors, and medical and surgical ICUs.

The Schedule consists of 24 weeks of inpatient coverage per year. A week is defined as 7 consecutive days of an 8AM- 8PM schedule, with a share of telephone-based evening call coverage.

  • Weekend Evenings are covered by Teleneurology.
  • Willingness to provide hands-on clinical supervision and teaching of our residents, students, fellows, and advanced practice providers is preferred.
  • Comfort with acute stroke care is essential.
  • Abundant didactic sessions, including weekly Grand Rounds, a monthly Neurohospitalist lecture series, and a monthly EEG teaching conference.

Opportunity to participate in outpatient and inpatient transplant service for transplant fellowship trained providers.   • Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, supportive environment
  • Ability to work a minimum of 25-35 hours weekly throughout tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks

  • Comfort working with virtual tools video, phone and chat
  • Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
  • Must meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
  • High school diploma / equivalent or higher
