The medical-surgical unit focuses on GI. Many of our patients have non-surgical abdominal pain, cirrhosis, hepatitis, non-surgical bowel obstructions, intractable nausea and vomiting, cholelithiasis, acute pancreatitis, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, and upper and lower GI bleeds. We also receive patients from surgery of less complicated cases and medical-surgical overflow. This is a fast-paced unit with lots to offer! We are a unit that values teamwork above all.

Summary:

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Summary:

Provides the necessary pharmaceutical services needed to facilitate the procurement of medications necessary to treat the patient. Such services shall include oral medications necessary for dispensing and department supplies. • RRTs may function as Shift Leader or serve in the capacity of Team Leader
• Advanced practice skills may include:
  • Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2;
  • Pulmonary Function Testing;
  • Bronchoscopy assist;
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring;
  • Waveform analysis;

  • Transport duties.

This practice offers a wide variety of pediatric surgical cases including neurosurgery, ENT, GI, and congenital cardiac. Key Responsibilities:
