About the Role

We’re hiring an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to support acute-care facility coding for a Level I Trauma Hospital. The ideal candidate is AHIMA-credentialed, highly accurate with ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes with appropriate DRG assignment (MS-DRG/APR-DRG as applicable).
• Ensure compliance with AHIMA, AHA Coding Clinic, CMS, and facility guidelines.
• Query providers per policy to clarify documentation and support compliant code/DRG selection.
• Meet or exceed productivity and 95–98%+ quality standards.
• Collaborate with HIM/CDI teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize documentation integrity.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard PHI in a remote work setting.

Required Qualifications

• AHIMA credential: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA (active and in good standing).
• 3+ years recent inpatient facility coding experience.
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG methodologies, POA indicators, and encoder/reference tools (e.g., 3M, TruCode).
• Strong understanding of payer guidelines, Medicare regulations, and official coding guidelines.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a secure remote workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level I or Level II Trauma Hospital Experience
• Experience partnering with CDI teams and responding to coder queries/audits

Pediatric Nephrology – Driscoll Children’s Hospital

The Driscoll Health System is seeking a Pediatric Nephrologist to join a robust program engaged in providing the highest standard of patient care for the children of South Texas. We have an openings at both our Corpus Christi and Edinburg locations!

The Division provides a full range of clinical services including living and deceased donor transplantation, acute and chronic hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis, and CRRT. Pediatric Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) - Driscoll Children's Hospital

The Driscoll Health System is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider to join a dynamic team of medical professionals in Pediatric Neurosurgery. The qualified candidate will have completed an approved PA or NP program and must be certified and licensed to practice in the state of Texas (or be able to obtain), a minimum 3 years of operating experience (any surgical specialty) preferred. Pediatric experience is not required, neurosurgery training will be provided. NEW Opportunity- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care

The Driscoll Health System is recruiting a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician. Currently, the group consists of six Board Certified Pediatric Critical Care Physicians. The ideal candidate, MD/DO, will be dual boarded by the American Board of Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology or completed additional fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. Candidates must have extensive expertise in post-operative management of complex and congenital heart patients. The pediatric critical care unit provides a comprehensive range of services, including ECMO, high frequency ventilation, and CRRT. Our NEW Pavilion which opened in October 2024 has 35 dedicated CICU beds, 2 new CV ORs, and 2 new Cath labs. In 2023 we had 544 Cardiac admissions to the PICU and 193 CV surgical cases.

Summary:

Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision.
