Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Pay: $60,000- $70,000

Location: Allentown, PA

Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Maintenance GM, this position supervises and coordinates the work of maintenance staff responsible for the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The role oversees daily maintenance activities and ensures the proper functioning of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including dock areas, aisles, break areas, bathrooms, and shipping offices. Ensure all areas are free of debris and in good working condition.
• Determine necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for maintenance tasks. Transfer equipment and personnel between projects as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of assigned facilities to assess conditions, diagnose issues, and initiate corrective actions.
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance activities, setting work priorities as necessary.
• Perform complex repairs and maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Supervise a team of skilled and semi-skilled workers in areas such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other related systems.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Eighteen months of post-high school education and training in general maintenance, repair, or a closely related field.
• Two years of experience in general maintenance or a related role, with the ability to identify electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.

Education and Experience:

• 2 years of technical schooling and 3 years of experience in a closely related field.
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to interact with all levels of management and lead a diverse workforce.
• Capable of making independent decisions when necessary.
• Problem-solving skills with minimal direction.
• Able to assess logical relationships between conclusions and supporting evidence.
• Draw conclusions based on facts and evidence.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Our client, a global manufacturer of specialized equipment serving critical infrastructure and commercial fleet markets, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Senior Manager / Director to lead manufacturing execution at their Bethlehem, PA installation and production facility. This role is responsible for operational performance, production control, workforce effectiveness, and adherence to manufacturing standards within a key North American operation. The position reports to the VP of North American Manufacturing and plays an important role in improving throughput, safety, quality, and on-time delivery while developing frontline supervisors and strengthening shop-floor leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations for the lift installation facility

• Drive improvements in on-time delivery and production schedule adherence

• Increase throughput capacity while maintaining safety and quality standards

• Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing tools including standard work and 5S

• Lead tiered production meetings and visual management systems to drive accountability

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will develop and implement appropriate operational standards and procedures as they apply to business operations, industrial engineering, cost reduction, manufacturing and facilities improvement programs by performing the following duties.

• Develop new and/or revised business processes throughout the assigned COE, from product/process concept to operations to all support activities /functions. Implementation or changes may improve process flow, methods of work, layout, tools, fixtures and/or equipment.
• Coordinate the COE cost reductions, Project Initiation document (PID) formation and continuous improvement activities.
• Gather and interpret large volumes of operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and waste. Develop and maintain performance dashboards and KPIs.
• Create Current State and Future State value stream maps and flowcharts to document business processes.
• Investigate operational failures, complaints, or errors using tools like the "5 Whys" or Fishbone diagrams to find permanent solutions.
• Lead or co-facilitate Kaizen events (short, intensive improvement workshops), 5S initiatives, and cross-functional team meetings.

Experience requirements: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university ideally in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering) and/or two to five years related experience in cGMP packaging or related industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry or a related pharmaceutical science, with at least 5+ years of experience in analytical method development and validation, or
• Master’s Degree (MS/MA) with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Extensive knowledge of cGMP, FDA/ICH guidelines, and regulatory standards (USP, Ph. Eur.)
• Hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, and familiarity with data acquisition software (Empower, Chemstation)
• Proficiency in laboratory management systems (Labvantage or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear reports and collaborate effectively with teams
