Job Description
- Defend transportation, trucking, and logistics litigation matters
- Handle catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death defense cases
- Manage cases from early investigation through resolution and trial
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Conduct legal research and prepare written legal analysis
- Prepare fact witnesses and expert witnesses and assist with case strategy
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear at court hearings and case conferences
- Assist with mediations and settlement related preparation
- Support trial preparation and trial execution with the litigation team
- Assist on related regulatory compliance, risk management, and employment issues connected to transportation matters
Qualifications
- Active Virginia bar license or clear ability to become licensed in Virginia
- 2 plus years of litigation experience
- Strong writing ability with motion practice and discovery experience
- Experience taking or defending depositions, or strong readiness to do so
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage deadlines
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Transportation, trucking, logistics, personal injury defense, or insurance defense experience is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check
