Find your calling at Mercy! The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of various patient care departments within the hospital.
This role ensures efficient workflow, adherence to policies, and high-quality support services that contribute to excellent patient care.
The House Supervisor supervises staff, coordinates activities, addresses issues as they arise, and maintains a safe and supportive environment.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day administrative functions of the nursing administration department, serving as a resource for EPIC support for nursing staff, wound care, patient admissions/discharges, inpatient diabetic education, bed planning, and staffing.
The House Supervisor consults with the Chief Nurse Executive, physicians, nurse managers, and charge nurses on nursing issues and the interpretation/application of hospital and nursing services policies and procedures to ensure patient and staff needs are met.
This position also participates in performance improvement and CQI activities, collaborates on staff scheduling processes, and serves as the house-wide administrative representative in the absence of administrative leadership.

Position Details: Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Minimum of three years of current inpatient hospital nursing experience.

PALS, EKG, and NRP within 60 days of hire.
NIH within 60 days and annually.
ASLS within 6 months and every two years thereafter.

- Conduct and evaluate health screenings and assessments.
- Provide first aid and respond to on-campus injuries or accidents.

- Educate students, parents, and staff on health promotion and disease prevention in a clear and compassionate manner.
Documentation & Communication
- Accurately document health screenings, immunizations, assessments, incident reports, and student health concerns.

- Remain compliant with all licensure requirements and agency standards, including state and federal regulations.
Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required

Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Physical requirements/demands:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
