The Engineering Leader is responsible for leading the Design Engineering organization across the company and ensuring consistent, high-quality, and profitable project delivery. Role Overview

We are seeking experienced QA Engineers to support testing and validation of consumer desktop platforms across internal and OEM configurations. The role focuses on Windows BSP testing, device validation, debugging, automation, and ensuring CI/CD release readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Flash builds onto Yukon boards and OEM devices
  • Configure UEFI, OS images, KDNET for debugging
  • Enable crash dump collection and install SoC/GPU/platform drivers
  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests (functional, stress, power, performance)
  • Perform exploratory testing and identify corner-case scenarios
  • Triage OEM/Internal bugs, collect logs/dumps, assist in debugging

Description:

  • Mechanical designers, sometimes called drafters, create designs for mechanical devices such as machines.
  • They are involved in the entire process, from sketching an idea through the manufacturing and testing of the finished product.
  • A mechanical designer can design a wide variety of products, such as refrigerators, robotics, heating equipment, automotives, and aerospace products.
  • Mechanical designers start by creating a blueprint for a requested product, which involves brainstorming, creating rough drafts of the blueprint, and creating subsequent detailed designs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Once the designs are complete, the final blueprint is created and provided to the company or client for approval.
  • Throughout development, the mechanical designer works with engineers to identify any areas of the design that need to be altered or improved.
  • Sometimes this may result in a completely new design being developed. Once a product is created, mechanical designers work with quality assurance engineers to ensure that the product has no defects or abnormalities.


Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years in precision mechanical design, preferably in HDD industry
  • Proven track record delivering products
  • Experience with high-volume consumer electronics or medical devices
  • CAD: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Analysis: FEA tools, modal analysis, shock/vibration simulation
  • Manufacturing: Deep knowledge of die casting, precision machining, MIM, stamping
  • Metrology: CMM programming, optical measurement systems, surface profilometry
  • Materials: Aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and engineering polymers for HDD applications
  • GD&T: Advanced application for tight-tolerance assemblies
  • HDD-Specific Knowledge:
  • Understanding of head-disk interface (HDI) and aerodynamics
  • Familiarity with contamination control and particle management
  • Knowledge of actuator dynamics and servo positioning systems
  • Awareness of magnetic recording fundamentals.


Education:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
