Overview:

Mercy Center for Performance Medicine out-patient surgery offers state of the art care to patients in need of surgical care. The center consists of 10 operating rooms, 2 minor procedure rooms and 1 cysto suite, making it one of the largest surgery centers in the United States. Equipped with the latest and greatest technology.

Surgery specialties include orthopedics, urology, plastics, neuro and general surgery.

Along with the operating room, the surgery center includes its own pre/post area, PACU, 23-hour stay area, SPD and supply chain.

Job Duties- Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  • Primary Aspects: Anticipates surgeon and operative team members needs regarding care delivery, maintaining sterile technique and comfort. Assist surgeon in a knowledgeable, efficient and courteous manner. Knows procedure and/or utilizes preference cards to assure instrument and equipment needs are available so team can stay patient focused: participates in updating preference cards. Inspects instruments and power equipment prior to use to assure operational order and troubleshoots, reports, and removes faulty instrument and equipment from service. Performs or assists in sterile preps as needed/requested by monitoring aseptic techniques of surgical team members at field, reporting and correcting breaks in sterile technique immediately, and controlling location of contaminated instruments and supplies.

Qualifications:
  • Required Education: HS Diploma or GED. Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
  • Required Experience: Must have at least one year of Surgical Tech experience
  • Preferred Education: Surgical Technology experience or Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.

The CT Technologist must also effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Position Details: CT Technologist- Mercy Hospital 615 S New Ballas Rd Saint Louis, MO 63141 Shift: Monday-Thursday: 8:00pm-6:30am Ask us about our $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible for Inpatient Shift Differential! Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion of required clinical hours.

Experience: no experience required Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certification/Registration: Obtained ARRT registry OR Registry eligible (Achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Proficiency in operating imaging equipment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements: • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs.
