The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking highly motivated individuals for the position of Junior or Assistant Specialist. This role will involve close collaboration on a number of research projects in one of the following two areas:

Area 1:

Applied microeconomics focusing on innovation, political economy, public finance, and industrial organization. The candidate would work at the Haas School of Business under the supervision of Business & Public Policy (BPP) Assistant Professor, Cailin Slattery, and Economic Analysis & Policy (EAP) Assistant Professor, Carolyn Stein.

Area 2:

Applied microeconomics focusing on health care, labor, productivity, and equity. The candidate would work at the Haas School of Business under the supervision of Economic Analysis & Policy (EAP) Professor, David Chan.

General Duties:

* Research Design & Methodology: Participate in all stages of the research process, from literature reviews and hypothesis formulation to the design and interpretation of econometric analyses. This includes applying methods of causal inference and structural or reduced-form econometrics.

* Data Lifecycle Management: Manage, manipulate, and clean large-scale datasets. Identify and resolve technical problems or coding errors to ensure data integrity from ingestion to analysis.

* Technical Programming: Write efficient, collaborative, and replicable computer code to implement analyses. Maintain version-controlled codebases that facilitate team collaboration and project transparency.

* Documentation & Replication: Maintain rigorous documentation of all work. Lead the creation of comprehensive replication packages and technical appendices to ensure research findings are verifiable.

* Output & Publication: Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts and project reports. Design and generate high-quality tables, graphs, and visualizations for publication.

* Project Coordination: Facilitate project momentum by running team meetings and monitoring statistical deliverables to ensure they meet quality assurance standards.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Engineering Productivity at Reliable Robotics, you will design, and implement software to support the development, analysis, and certification of automated aircraft systems. You will work closely with product owners and end users to develop solutions that enable and optimize engineering development workflows. The software you produce will be critical to the development and certification of the first fully autonomous aircraft.

Responsibilities

In your role as an internal tool developer, you will develop applications, infrastructure, and tools used by engineering to capture product requirements and interface definitions, model the product architecture and design, and reduce and analyze flight and lab test data. You will supercharge the engineering organization's efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining tools and processes. You will work with other teams and stakeholders to establish technical and UX design requirements for these projects and own the "plan, code, build, test, release, deploy" lifecycle of these applications and services.

Education/Experience

• 2+ years' experience in commercial solar, storage or EVSE construction
• NABCEP Installer Certification is a plus
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $114,300 - $139,700 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.

Working Conditions

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive part-time temporary Administrative Assistant who has the ability to work across time zones globally. This role requires exceptional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing calendars including scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating meetings across multiple time zones.
• Coordinate domestic and international travel and assist with expense reports.
• Anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and handle time-sensitive matters with urgency and professionalism.
• Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and background information in advance of meetings and events.
• Organize meetings, including scheduling, reminders, materials, and catering.
• Build strong working relationships.
• Provide additional administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience supporting executives with calendars and travel that span global time zones.
• Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours requests.

Capacity Management and Operations is a new team supporting multiple internal Client organizations. We manage their Capacity Management process, improving it where necessary, and provide operational support for the work pipeline. Our engineers help resolve capacity regression cases which save the Client millions in data center running costs per year. We also enable the most cutting edge work by aligning the demand and supply for critical infrastructure.

Quick learning is the most critical part of this job. Each internal Client org is different, most of them are using custom tools and have different needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cross-functional capacity management or operations, but must be open to navigate a steep learning curve. Experience with automation, scripting and coding will be a great asset. Good communication is a must.

Key tasks

• Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders in each Client org to manage their current and future needs
• Act as the owner of and actively develop the Capacity Management framework
• Collaborate cross-functionally on a daily basis with stakeholders from multiple Client orgs
• Support engineers in implementing the framework for each specific Client org case
• Support the Client orgs in capacity planning and building their capacity monitoring processes
• Act as a SPOC for non-standard requests related to Capacity Management and Operations service
• Report on team's performance

Qualifications / requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Technical Project/Program Management
• Good understanding of capacity planning and monitoring
• Expert communication skills in English - both spoken and written - including being proactive about communication with team members and beyond the team
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic, large-scale environment
• Willingness to learn and the desire to gain knowledge and skills to constantly improve qualifications
• Some extent of flexibility to participate in oncall rotation and oncall handover meetings

Pay range is $60-$65 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
