Ride Control Software Engineers work within Imagineering’s Ride Engineering Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. Engineering activities cover all aspects of ride control software design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative ride platforms.

The role of Ride Control Software Engineer Principal (Design Assurance) focuses on design, analysis, system safety, and verification across multiple projects, supporting project teams in critical engineering quality activities.

This role will report to the Executive, Ride Controls Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

Conduct design assurance activities in standards and best practices development, partnering with ride engineering partners across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry.

• Stay abreast of, and participate in the development of, company and industry standards and methodologies.

• Participate in company committees and industry organizations involved in ride safety and design.

• Maintain and improve engineering processes to meet project delivery and design assurance objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning

• Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design

• Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution

• Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures

• Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT

• Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards

• Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849

• Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291

• Solid skills in technical document writing and communication

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-month durations

Ride Development Engineering Design Assurance is an all-encompassing role that provides technical oversight and guidance in support of Ride project teams. As Ride engineering experts, they lead the way when it comes to process, standardization, and overall design compliance. Design Assurance Engineers work alongside our project teams to provide experience, knowledge, and expertise to help advance our projects.

This role will work with the Executive Ride Development Engineering.

This is a full-time role.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Ride Engineering design review process to ensure that appropriate engineering/design standards, methods, analyses, and judgment are applied so the engineered products meet the design intent and the business imperatives of safety, reliability, and efficiency.

• Review designs related to Ride Engineering products and provide feedback to project teams and functional management regarding the acceptability of those designs.

• Interpret and develop standards and codes that will be utilized by the Ride Engineering organization.

Job Summary:

Budlong is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator / BIM Manager to strengthen our MEP project delivery and coordination workflows. This role will work closely with internal engineering teams and offshore partners to ensure high-quality BIM execution, efficient coordination, and consistent processes across projects.

This is a hands-on, coordination-focused role with strong influence on design quality, collaboration, and BIM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Coordination & Project Support

• Lead BIM coordination for MEP projects across design and construction phases
• Manage clash detection, coordination meetings, and issue resolution
• Work closely with HVAC, Plumbing/FP, and Electrical engineers to align design intent with BIM models
• Review BIM models for quality, constructability, and compliance with standards

Standards, Processes & QA/QC

• Establish and enforce BIM standards, templates, and best practices
• Review models and drawings produced by internal and offshore teams
• Ensure consistency across projects and disciplines
• Support continuous improvement of BIM workflows and processes

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as the key point of contact between:
• US engineering teams
• Offshore BIM/engineering teams
• External consultants and contractors
• Participate in regular coordination and design review meetings
• Provide clear direction, feedback, and priorities to project teams

Technology & Tools

• Support the adoption of new BIM tools, automation, and coordination workflows
• Assist in evaluating and implementing process enhancements related to BIM and digital delivery

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in BIM coordination or BIM management (MEP-focused)
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Autodesk Revit (MEP)
• Navisworks (Manage)
• Solid understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows
• Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with offshore/global delivery teams
• Familiarity with US codes and construction practices
• Exposure to large or complex commercial/institutional projects

Job Description

Summary: To prepare 3D models and drawings using CATIA V5 R21 and above. Performs design, drafting, and checking functions and can coordinate designs with both Project and Manufacturing Engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

· Proficient in all facets of 3D modeling in CATIA V5. Capable of creating sketch-based solids, complex surfaces, assemblies, parameterized models, etc.

· Use manufacturing knowledge in the creation of metallic components by sheet metal forming, and both subtractive and additive manufacturing to design parts which can be readily manufactured.

· Create details and assemblies with broad range of complexity while operating within engine and vehicle level DMU environments. Model in local and/or global coordinate systems, as applicable.

· Ability to operate in PLM software (3DX) and use standard configuration management practices.

· Create 2D drawings or 3D PDFs for detail components and assemblies.

· Create Model Based Definition (MBD) using the FTA workbench.

· Develop assembly BOMs.

· Strong understanding and application of GD&T practices per ASME Y14.5-2 acceptable).

· Perform tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and installation assessments.

· Write Engineering Orders and make changes to existing drawings.

· Perform weight calculations (hand or CATIA based).

· Perform design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters.

· Aid the shop, customers, and vendors in reading and interpreting SSP and customer drawings to facilitate manufacturing.

· Create tooling models and drawings.

· Follow all Senior policies and procedures.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area using safety standards
