OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - General Surgery for our client in California!
Job Responsibilities
* Perform preoperative consults on surgical patients, including risk assessments and information gathering.* Conduct patient interviews and complete full consult notes for day-of-surgery cases.* Report abnormal lab and test results to the medical director.* Address patient concerns and answer questions from RNs in the clinic.* Discuss any patient-related issues with the medical director.* Alert the medical director to logistical concerns affecting patient care.
Qualifications
* Surgical experience required.* At least 50 clinical services, cases, or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months.* Active CA medical license.* Active CA DEA license.* At least two years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty.* Explanation required for any gaps in practice greater than three months.* Case logs must be provided upon presentation for surgical specialties.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.* Approximately 14-week assignment.* Guaranteed 8 hours per day.* Overtime applies after 8 hours in a day.
Skills
* Strong clinical assessment and surgical patient evaluation skills.* Excellent communication skills with patients, RNs, and medical directors.* Ability to identify and escalate abnormal findings promptly.* Proficiency in completing detailed consult documentation.* Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple patient cases efficiently.
