You'll be a key player on our litigation team, handling meaningful litigation cases from start to finish:

• Own and manage a full litigation caseload—from intake through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and everything in between

• Build smart litigation strategies and evaluate case value with confidence

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Michigan bar license (in good standing)

Trustpoint One is pleased to partner with a leading Michigan law firm in its search for a Labor and Employment Attorney. The Attorney will provide support and assistance to Partners attorneys during all phases of employment related litigation and traditional labor matters. The position has hybrid flexibility in the firm's Detroit or Troy office.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct thorough and high-quality legal research
• Assist with all areas of discovery including drafting discovery requests, responses to discovery requests, preparation of initial disclosures and witness preparation
• Prepare legal briefs and other pleadings
• Work with Partners to determine documents and information to produce, manner of production, and selection of vendors
• Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges
• Handle various aspects of employment related litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations and depositions
• Prepare trial materials
• Attend and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited law school
• Admitted to the Michigan State Bar, or eligible to promptly become admitted
• 3-6 years' experience in employment related litigation and client counseling
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Good organizational and project management skills
• Experience in managing discovery
• Experience in taking and defending depositions
• Proficient in the use of on-line legal research services and legal resources available on the internet including Westlaw
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Experience in traditional labor matters a plus
