$30 - $40 hourly

Daily duties consist of assisting the Guardian with making arrangements for the care and custody of the client (an impaired adult with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or dementia) by making sure their daily needs are met and they are getting the care they need.

• Understand client goals
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and legal requirements
• Provide guidance and support to clients and their families
• Make decisions using best judgment in key areas of the client’s life, and follow through on decisions made for wards such as living arrangements, medical decisions, quality of life improvements, etc.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records
• Manage and maintain a case load of clients and complete all required documentation under the supervision of the Director of Guardianship Services
• Make visits to clients within and outside their home setting (i.e., nursing home, group home, independent living, assisted living, apartment, house, public environments, etc.)
• Coordinate and/or attend inter-disciplinary care conferences
• Attend medical appointments
• Provide oversight of the client's plan of care
• Participate and attend required company meetings
• Manage multiple and conflicting schedules to ensure meetings are scheduled with required participants, locations, technology, etc.
• Ensure requests for responses and other feedback are met, proactively check deadlines on incoming requests, and use best judgment in making decisions
• Maintain confidentiality

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
• Experience in legal or social services preferred
• Strong understanding of guardianship and conservatorship laws in Michigan and national guardianship standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working with traumatically brain-injured or developmentally disabled individuals
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
• Annual certification is required
• Able to work in challenging situations. The job includes driving to appointments and taking clients to appointments. Driver’s license and insurance required
• Able to navigate stairs
• This work is hybrid - client meetings in the community, and some work can be completed at home

This role requires the ability to handle multiple projects while working closely with attorneys, clients, and foreign associates on brand protection, trademark prosecution, and docket management. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in trademark processes within a law firm environment.

• Assist with preparation and prosecution of U.S. trademark applications, statements of use, renewals, assignments, office action responses, and related filings
• Support international trademark prosecution through correspondence with foreign associates and trademark offices
• Assist attorneys with TTAB matters including extensions of time to oppose, notices of opposition, and petitions for cancellation
• Prepare reporting letters and correspondence for clients and foreign associates
• Coordinate filings, deadlines, and documentation with foreign associates and track communications for timely follow-up
• Monitor trademark docket and communicate deadlines and updates
• Draft reports, legal documents, and correspondence requiring knowledge of trademark law and legal terminology
• Open, organize, and maintain legal files in accordance with firm policies
• Provide case management and matter tracking support
• Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track filing and court deadlines

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant trademark experience in a law firm required
• Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and project management skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of trademark law, USPTO rules and procedures, and intellectual property concepts
• Familiarity with legal document preparation, legal terminology, and civil procedure
• Strong proofreading, grammar, and editing abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Professional

Compensation & Benefits

We recognize the commitment, time, and care involved in being a gestational carrier. Compensation includes:

Base Compensation

• $60,000 – $70,000
  (First-time carrier to experienced carrier)

Additional Benefits

• $250 monthly expense allowance
• $500 maternity clothing allowance
• $10,500 for multiple birth
• Up to $10,000 for loss of organs (per contract terms)
• Lost wages (carrier and spouse, if applicable — based on employment verification)
