Clinical Research Assistant
Our Research Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting in research patient visits according to ICH-GCP guidelines and according to the IRB-approved study protocol and/or manual of procedures. Day-to-day activities may include all or some of the essential functions listed below, depending upon individual experience / knowledge and the needs of the organization which are subject to change from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule subject visits within study/subject specific windows per protocol guidelines.
- Prepare visit-specific documentation and charts for Clinical Research Coordinator
- Observe Coordinator in patient care and management
- Assist Coordinator in monitoring subject flow and assist in subject care and management
- Observe, assist, collect and record all necessary data for follow up (e.g. adverse events, concomitant medications, etc.) study visits (Phase 2 & 3; NO Gene Therapy)
- Transcribe subject study information from source documents to the Electronic Case Report Forms
- Administer all mandatory questionnaires to study subjects
- Set up, prepare subject, and conduct electrocardiograms (ECG) on subjects as required per study protocol
- Promptly request all necessary medical records for Serious Adverse Event Reporting
- Process and ship laboratory biological samples for analysis
- Perform intraocular pressure checks after injections
- Perform trial frame refraction and ETDRS visual acuity testing (For ISTs only, at selected sites)
- Inform subjects and obtain written re-consents in regard to ICF’s
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Obtain any applicable additional/required sponsor training and/or certifications
Education & Experience
- High school degree or equivalent (Required) College Degree (Preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish (Strongly Preferred)
- Ophthalmic experience (Preferred)
- Effective written and oral communication skills

- Utilize LEAN construction concepts to deliver outstanding project results (Pull Planning, Daily Huddles, SIPs, 5s, Waste Elimination, PDCA)
- Manage Manpower Forecast, TRACK Task creation, review and set up, Mobilization Meeting and Production tracking
- Accurately forecast project profit and loss under the supervision of Senior Project Manager and/or Division Manager.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client. Ensure costs on each project assigned are allocated properly, and accurately recorded.
- Ensure procurement practices are followed related to materials, subcontracts, and other required construction expenditures.
- Resource forecasting and allocation, working closely with Superintendent and Material/Equipment Coordinator
- Effectively manage subcontractor contracts, work performance and billings.
- Manage project related correspondence and documents through designated document management systems. Review any documentation prepared by Assistant Project Manager, PC or PA before submission.
- Manage scope changes and ensure change orders are priced correctly and processed timely.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline preferred. (Can be a combination of education, training, and other relevant work experience.)

- Working knowledge of electrical construction management; contracts, project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, equipment, and means and methods required

Reports to: Senior Estimator
Position Summary
The Estimating Department is responsible for producing project-specific construction estimates based on client requirements.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will:
-Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates for bids and proposals using McCormick
Estimating Software.
-Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
-Perform quantity takeoffs and correctly input data into estimating software.
-Evaluate and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
-Prepare budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives.
-Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
-Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client/design professional conferences.
-Support ongoing development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases.

- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit and evaluate proposals and negotiate terms to optimize project costs.
- Perform quantity surveys and determine labor production rates.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to enhance bid competitiveness.
- Proficiency with Blue Beam, Excel, and P6 scheduling software a plus.
- Proven expertise in public bidding procedures including familiarity with the California Public Contract Code, California prevailing wages, Davis-Bacon Act and state/federal procurement guidelines.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes and sustainability practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in all phases of General Construction and Construction Management.
