Our Detroit Lakes Urgent Care is seeking a provider to join the team in providing exceptional healthcare to our growing community and the surrounding area. With strong community involvement and a solid sense of teamwork, become a part of this busy practice setting. This ideal practice setting offers access to the resources of a multi-specialty clinic and is adjacent to the hospital and emergency medicine department. Our UC team consists of 3 Advanced Practice Providers with MD oversight.

  • 0.75 FTE
  • Must be certified to care for individuals of all ages
  • Patient variety and high-acuity needs
  • Open Mon-Fri from 8a-8p, Sat & Sun from 8a-4p
  • 2-3 shifts/week rotating every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday
  • Variable schedule floating needed to cover CME/vacations at Park Rapids HWY 34 Walk-In Clinic. May also provide coverage in ED, if interested
  • Ability to work within a team

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. EDUCATION/TRAINING:

PRACTICE SPECIFICS:

  • Open to a variety of FTE opportunities (example of full-time, 1.0 FTE opportunity = 36 patient contact hours.
  • Hours: Monday-Friday between 8a-5p
  • Based in Detroit Lakes, MN with potential outreach to Lake Park, Pelican Rapids, Frazee or Mahnomen Clinics
  • Average Clinic Patients per day 14-18, can be limited based on patient type
  • Peds Call is approximately 1:6 weekends (1 day per week of peds call, 1 weekend every 6 weeks; hospitalist service in place).
  • Onsite Services Include: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN & Nurse Midwifery, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, General Surgery/Wound Care, Diabetes Education, Dietitian, Infusion Center, Path/Lab, Radiology/Imaging, Therapy Services, Geriatrics/Eldercare, Dermatology, Optometry, Podiatry, Orthopedic Surgery, Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care
  • Outreach Services Include: Audiology, Oncology, ENT, Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine

COMPENSATION:

  • $323,400.  Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.

Join a high-volume, collaborative primary care team in providing comprehensive Internal Medicine and Pediatric care.

PEDIATRIC PRACTICE SPECIFICS:

  • Well-child checkups and immunizations to sports physicals and adolescent health programs (minimal inpatient volumes.)  Join 1 PNP and 15 Family Medicine providers to become a welcomed part of this team-based primary care group committed to the care of our area’s growing families.

  • Monday-Friday schedule between 8a-5p; 36 patient contact hours in clinic

  • Well-established and growing practice, with approximately 500 deliveries per year

  • Only clinic to offer a pediatrician in the area   

  • Anticipated outpatient volume: 14-18 patients/day with 2-3 procedures/day

  • Hospital Rounding – round on newborns post-delivery; minimal inpatient volumes

  • Special procedures preferred/required: Circumcision

  • Call description: 1 in 10 weekends and weekdays with primary care team– includes newborn rounding, C-section & delivery coverage

  • Level I Newborn Nursery

INTERNAL MEDICINE PRACTICE SPECIFICS

  • Total number of physicians in specialty currently in department at practice site: 1

  • Anticipated weekly work schedule: 8-5, M-F plus call rotation

  • Anticipated volume of office patients per day: 15-20/day

  • Description of inpatient unit that physician will utilize: ICU & Med/Surg

  • Average daily census of unit: ICU = 4; MSP = 15

REQUIREMENTS:

  • IM/Peds residency, board eligible/certified

  • H1-B visa candidates will be considered
