IHS hospital located in rural Alaska is seeking a locum tenens physician to cover their Emergency Dept from Dec 15
- Jan 31st.

This assignment has possibility for extension and/or permanent.

No AK license is required.

Town is approximately 3500 in population but services 10,000 with outlying villages.

Average patient census per 24 hours is 25.

Shifts are 12 hours with a swing shift which will provide double physician coverage during most of the day.

The hospital does not do surgeries etc.

all critical patients are flown to Anchorage IHS.

The hospital also has physician in each village providing Covid Response and in house Hospitalists with Covid experience.Backup staff consists of FT Family Medicine Physicians, 24/7 OB, 24/7 Psychiatry, Hospitalists.

They are also currently running a cold/flu walk in clinic to reduce patients in the ER.Wonderful new hospital with a great staff.
