Temp to perm Legal Word Processor

Are you a legal word processor looking for your next home? Would you like to work with a highly regarded mid-sized firm in suburban Maryland? If so, R & W Group has a great new temp to perm position! One of our favorite law firm clients is looking for a detail-oriented and proficient Word Processor to join our team.
In this role, you would be responsible for creating, formatting, and editing documents using word processing software.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of word processing experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: · High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in word processing.
· 5+ years of word processing experience in a legal environment.
· The ability to communicate effectively to establish effective working relationships.
· Good organizational skills for prioritizing workload.
· Ability to proof and perform editing (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling) of routine office correspondence and forms.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Familiarity with document management systems and file sharing platforms is preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Typing and formatting documents such as reports, letters, memos, manuals, and presentations using word processing software.
· Transcribe and revise tapes and handwritten materials containing correspondence, memoranda, and project work in the daily production of legal documents.
Edit and finalize documents and copy and disseminate to clients, attorneys, and staff.
· Ensure documents are properly formatted according to company guidelines and templates.
· Proofread correspondence, memoranda, pleadings and documents to ensure accuracy of grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
· Coordinate with colleagues to gather necessary information and inputs for document creation.
· Manage document versions and revisions as needed.
· Create and update tables, charts, and graphs within documents.
· Convert documents between formats (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and clean up formatting as needed.
· Assist with the preparation and distribution of documents.
· Troubleshoot and resolve formatting or technical issues with documents.
· Manage document comparisons (redlines) and version control.
· Create and edit tables, charts and graphics.
Overtime may be required during periods of high workload upon approval.
You must be flexible in your daily work schedule for breaks and lunch period due to attorney requirements.
Compensation of $25 – 35/hour (depending upon experience).
Upon conversion to a perm employee, benefits would include health insurance.
