Berkot's is seeking Assistant Store Manager applicants for our Manteno Location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assistant the Store Manager in the day to day functions of running the store, responsible for opening and closing of the store
- Have functional knowledge of all departments within the store; Deli, Bakery, Produce, Meat. Grocery, Front End
- Provide quality customer service at all times, handle customer comments and special requests
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of all new Employees
- Understand and enforce all company policies as it relates to best practices in the Employee Handbook
- Supervise a team of 3-20 employees store wide at one time, prioritizing tasks and functions for the day
- Work with Store Manager for counseling on problems, recommendations for change, and effectiveness on merchandising decisions
- Understand use and safety on all pieces of machinery and equipment
- Uphold OSHA safety and Health code Standards in every department
- Make decisions concerning placement of merchandise, pricing, employee scheduling, expense control, store shrink, ordering of products, department operating procedures and sales/ promotion of merchandise
- Communicate to customer, employees, managers and supervisors
Requirements:
- Ability to stand for 5 hours

- Highschool Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of grocery experience highly preferred

This is a non-remote, in-office position.
Leadership role in a region that utilizes a designated teammate to supervise a branch estimating team.
Must be able to prioritize work, allocate available resources, and implement best practices and processes consistent with division goals as determined by the sales leadership team and Estimating Supervisor.
Basic Job Functions: Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
Possess a thorough knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice and be able to ensure alignment with the division’s processes, best practices and market differences.
Lead branch estimating team to achieve enterprise and division goals, including safety culture and culture of continuous improvement and growth.
Provide industry leading service and communication that differentiates Nucor Rebar Fabrication from the competition.
Assign all estimating work to the appropriate branch estimating teammates so that sales have the information required to intelligently bid each project based on our customer’s expectations.
Oversee the accuracy, quality, productivity, and timeliness of the branch estimating team and all 3rd party resources.
Communicate with the Estimating Supervisor and other Estimating Leads to manage and balance estimating resources across the division to support sales leadership’s strategy and initiatives Mentor branch estimating teammates and provide appropriate performance feedback, coaching, and training required to build their commercial acumen.
Perform or assist in periodic performance reviews of the branch estimating team.
Perform other duties as requested by the Estimating Supervisor.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications: Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Knowledge of concrete structures, CRSI/ACI standards Ability to track plan revisions/bid updates against previous work Must have good communication and computer skills Can demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability read and understand construction drawings such as structural, architectural and civil drawings to assist in the assessment and estimating of the project, understand project scope and bidding strategy.
Must be able to meet critical deadlines and handle changing priorities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications: Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college What You Need to Know Extended hours may be required during peak production.
