JMS Rebar Inc. is the largest independently owned rebar fabrication shop in the Carolinas, and we are looking for a Rebar Shop Manager for our location in Mechanicsville, VA! The ideal candidate will lead a rebar shop to accomplish production goals to service our customers. Prior rebar experience and knowledge is preferred but not required. If you have supervisory experience and familiar with production, this may be the perfect fit for you!
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of 8 employees, consisting of 6 shop employees, 1 driver, and 1 salesperson
- Complete and maintain paperwork of material received, produced and shipped
- Oversee inventory management and adjustments
- Assist with recruiting and interviewing for vacant positions
- Ensure safety work protocols per OSHA Industrial Safety Standards
- Plan, assist and oversee maintenance of shop equipment so that downtime is minimized and equipment functions as safely as possible
- Oversee and perform quality inspections of completed work so that the correct quantity of correctly fabricated and correctly tagged material will be shipped to the proper customer’s destination
- Perform various jobs such as operation of shear line, bender, crane operator and fork-lift operator among others, so the shift work is done efficiently and on time
- Performs and/or assist on other duties as assigned
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Previous Rebar Fabrication experience preferred
- Forklift and overhead crane operation knowledge
- Previous experience with aSa Rebar System
- Must meet attendance standards
- Able to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required
- Strong mathematical skills are required
- Strong customer service orientation
- Able to communicate with customers, sales rep, detailers and employees required
- Must demonstrate outstanding organization and multi-tasking skills
- Able to read and interpret placing drawings (i.e. blueprints, specs, proposals and forms)
- Strong spatial skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support chain managers in helping to define, grow, and maintain relationships with chain account buyers to proactively define their future needs.
- Leverage ongoing contact with chain customers to support relevant programs/initiatives from Sales and Marketing.
- Assist chain managers with identifying, preparing, and/or documenting chain-account related collateral (e.g., account status, reporting trends, sales presentations).
- Identify and expedite ongoing issues/problems with a given chain, assisting in the planning and coordination of solutions.
- Participate in chain customer meetings as appropriate to ensure awareness, understanding, and involvement in operational issues and potential revenue opportunities.
- Build, maintain, and demonstrate in-depth working knowledge of all technology and/or reports required (e.g., 9ci) to support chain customer requests.
- Monitor and resolve problems, questions, and/or inquiries from customers, drivers, and sales team members regarding chain customer account details (e.g., one-off changes to chain account orders, requests for delivery information, inquiries for relevant documents).
- Triage/send incoming non-chain customer care e-mails/calls/e-inquiries to other parts of Enterprise Business Services (e.g., AP, AR) (e.g., Sales) as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with other internal team members and chain customers as needed to obtain required information from and share results with appropriate stakeholders.
