JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a Transportation Technician IV to perform work as a lead inspector responsible for supervision of transportation construction projects in the state of North Carolina.
Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
This position is available in multiple locations within North Carolina and can be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
* Perform inspection of contractor's operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
* Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout construction of the project
* Measure and track quantities of pay items
* Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector's daily diaries
* Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues
* Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills

Required Experience
* Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and seven (7) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Active driver's license
* Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans
* Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
* Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems
* Thorough understanding of DOT Standards and Specifications and Roadway Standard Drawings
* NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing preferred
* Experience with local clients preferred
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Restaurant Staff responsibilities include:
-Effectively communicate with management in a timely manner regarding scheduling issues, customer service problems, and equipment malfunctions.
-Follow all safety procedures and guidelines including personal safety, equipment use, and food handling and storage.
-Ensure all products are stocked, maintained, and prepared according to company quality standards.
-Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
-Clean the customer service areas by following the proper procedures as directed by the manager on duty, including outside landscaping, building entrances, dining room tables and condiment stations, restrooms, and food production and storage units.
-Demonstrate fiscal responsibility with all company assets by following company cash handling policies.
-Demonstrate ability to be a “team player” by contributing to the team’s success and communicating effectively with other Customer Service Representatives.
-Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
-Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
-Frequent washing of hands.
A qualified candidate will have:
-A high school diploma or equivalent or higher preferred but not required
-Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
