- May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist
- Practices infection control and body substance isolation in clinical practice in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
- Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems
- Demonstrates ability to operate and trouble shoot CR, DR and PACs applications
- Attends annual mandatory education to include blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation. Maintains department competencies as required
- Position Qualifications
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience as Ultrasonographer preferred
- Must obtain registry from ARDMS or ARRT within 2 years of employment
- Education and Training
- Must have completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program.
- Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred
- License, Certification & Registration
- ARRT(S)/ARDMS - Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS within 2 years of employment
- CPR - CPR is required
- If you are currently employed and possess a Massachusetts Diagnostic Radiography License and Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, you must be maintain these credentials throughout your employment
- Other Requirements
- Must be proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical , dvt studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment
- Must be familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays
- Ability to function independently and proficiently
- Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis
- Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment
