3rd Shift Electronics / PLC Specialist
Our client is a global leader in beverage packaging, operating high‑speed, highly automated manufacturing facilities. The 3rd Shift Electronics/PLC Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, optimization, and continuous improvement of plant automation systems. This position supports production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, sensors, and electrical controls across can‑making and end‑making equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize PLC‑based control systems (Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell).
- Maintain and modify HMI interfaces, servo drives, VFDs, and industrial communication networks.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with sensors, instrumentation, robotics, and machine control logic.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on recurring automation faults to reduce downtime.
- Execute scheduled PMs on electrical and electronic systems to ensure equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control logic changes.
- Support predictive maintenance initiatives using data, trends, and system diagnostics.
- Lead or support automation upgrades, line improvements, and new equipment installations.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve throughput, quality, and safety.
- Implement control logic changes to enhance machine performance and reduce scrap.
- Ensure all electrical and automation work complies with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Ardagh safety standards.
- Participate in safety audits, LOTO procedures, and risk assessments.
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant electrical panels and control cabinets.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience in metal packaging, food/beverage, or other high‑speed industrial manufacturing.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with PLC‑based automation.
- Strong proficiency with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, RSLogix/Studio 5000, Logix500.
- Experience with HMIs (FactoryTalk View), VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP).
- Experience with Drivers: Yaksawa
- Familiarity with TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with SCADA systems and data collection platforms.

Shifts: 1st, 2nd, 3rd (must be flexible with working/training on all shifts)
Position Responsibilities
- Operate high-speed cigarette manufacturing and packaging equipment, including loading materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, quality, output, and regulatory compliance.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues; respond to machine alarms and system messages; adjust machine settings as needed.
- Complete high-level preventive maintenance across multiple technologies and subassemblies using equipment manuals and work instructions.
- Make standard machine adjustments, including timing, alignment, settings, format changes, and part replacement.
- Install, commission, and modify manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Perform complex mechanical interventions and support, guide, and train other technical personnel.
- Conduct all required quality checks and tests per standard operating procedures.
- Enter maintenance and production data into SAP/CMMS and other systems; create repair records and work history.
- Order and verify materials and parts; confirm production specifications; monitor and respond to KPI data.
- Set up equipment for multiple products using MES, parts ordering systems, document management systems, and related applications.
- Work at heights up to 10 feet and operate industrial vehicles and powered lifts.
Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in the cigarette manufacturing industry is mandatory
- Strong mechanical or electro-mechanical skills with the ability to perform advanced mechanical repairs.
- Proven experience diagnosing equipment issues and performing corrective maintenance.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications.
- Ability to meet WorkKeys requirements:
- Ability to operate industrial vehicles and powered lifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Industrial Systems Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or military equivalent).
- Experience using SAP/CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Winston Salem, NC, for a Truck Driver and Set-Up Technician. Responsibilities:
Operates commercial vehicles and requires a valid CDL for operating vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity of over 26,000 pounds. Also, will assemble and service all types of equipment offered for sale by the dealership. Prepares equipment for delivery to the customer or for demonstration purposes. Responsible for maintenance on shop vehicles. Responsible for the transportation of goods to clients in a safe and timely manner.
Complete paperwork related to delivery or driving.
Comply with regulations: They must comply with all transport regulations and maintain a clean driving record.
Customer service: CDL truck drivers often interact with customers during delivery and must provide excellent customer service.
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
May participate in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements:
Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up processes
Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturer’s pre-delivery instructions
Understanding basic computer functions
Fundamental level of knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the dealership
