Preco is now hiring a Full-Time Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) for their Metals Department in Somerset, WI.


The Production Supervisor would have all production personnel on that shift as direct reports. The team will be focused on the Metals Market. The Supervisor is responsible for training and motivating employees. The team must meet quality, production, and efficiency goals. The Production Supervisor is to be a point of contact for anyone on shift for questions or directions. The Supervisor is responsible for communication with other groups and shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all personnel are aware of and follow Preco safety protocols.
  • Follow and meet the manufacturing schedule as defined by Scheduler. Adjust personnel to maintain schedule priorities.
  • Strive to manufacture all products to meet specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. Stop production if solution cannot be found.
  • Support data accuracy and input for production analytics. Use data to analyze productivity to manage production and personnel. Make recommendations to management as appropriate.
  • Identify process and procedure problems that negatively affect quality and efficiency. Work with team, other shifts, Engineering, and Quality to resolve problems and continuously improve process.
  • Communicate issues and solutions across all shifts. This ensures solutions are leveraged and problems are not repeated.
  • Ensure team has resources, tools, and materials to keep machines running efficiently and without quality defects.
  • Identify training needs for personnel on shift and schedule training.
  • Develop/implement growth and development plans for personnel. This includes daily feedback and annual reviews.
  • Verify that orders are complete, documentation is complete and accurate, parts are packed and labeled, properly report time and quantity correctly, and ready to be shipped (all paperwork is filled out completely and correctly).
  • Assure production team is performing line clean out and work cell clean up prior to next job or shift.
  • Responsible for meeting all SQF (Safe Quality Foods), quality, and customer requirements for this position.
  • Responsible for facility lock up and shutdown of unused laser systems.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role utilizing automated production equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or coursework in Management, Business, or Leadership.
  • Working knowledge of quality management system (QMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and SQF.

About the Role

A well-established advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with strong TIG welding experience to support welding processes within a high-mix precision manufacturing environment.

This role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting GTAW (TIG) and orbital welding processes used in stainless steel tubing assemblies and precision components. The position works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure welding operations are robust, repeatable, and suitable for scaled manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing or process engineer who has hands-on TIG welding experience and wants to take ownership of welding-related production processes, while remaining embedded in a broader manufacturing engineering team.


Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and optimisation of GTAW (TIG) and orbital welding processes within production

• Assist with development and documentation of welding procedures and work instructions

• Work with design and manufacturing teams to improve weld joint design, fixturing, and manufacturability

• Troubleshoot welding issues on the production floor and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions

The QA/QC Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring all welding activities associated with steel storage tank fabrication and field construction comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. The individual shall be proficient in ASME Section IX welding qualifications and API 650 requirements for welded steel storage tanks. Work includes shop and field inspection, documentation control, coordination of NDE activities, and support of quality management systems.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Review, Verify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) in accordance with ASME Section IX.
  • Inspect welding activities for compliance with API 650 requirements, including joint details, materials, fit-up, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform visual inspection of welds before, during and after welding operations.
  • Coordinate and witness non-destructive examination (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) and review inspection and test reports.

The Senior Data Manager identifies all data deliverables made part of a contract and subsequently builds a data track in a Product Data Management (PDM) system. The DM identifies, with help from the Program Office, the appropriate preparers, receive the data within PDM, reviews the data for compliance, solicits and secures appropriate programmatic approval and delivers the information to the customer on time, throughout the lifecycle of the contract.

In addition, DMs are responsible for reviewing sub-tier contractor requirements, building data tracks for supplier submissions, receiving data from various suppliers, and routing for approval and/or incorporation into prime contractor deliverables to the customer as well as securing non-deliverable program work products to be configuration controlled in the PDM system and other related tasking.

What You Will Do

  • Reading contracts for understanding of the deliverables
  • Working in a PDM system to capture, manage, and track data deliverables and/or receivables
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to obtain requested data
  • Proofreading data for compliance to the requirement(s)
  • Managing the data deliverable schedule and providing the data to the customer on-time
  • Learning and understanding contractually required markings applied to data
  • Running forecast reports and providing them to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Providing metrics related to on-time deliveries and outstanding dispositions upon request
  • Reviewing and approving sub-tier supplier statements of work for data requirements
  • Supporting program meetings and providing training to program personnel and customers and/or suppliers
  • Handling and protection of Company Intellectual Property (IP) as well as U.S. government IP and classified information

Qualifications you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience OR a related Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience related to data management and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer support/service role
