Akkodis is seeking a for a Design Controls Engineer- Medical Device at Location: Santa Clarita CA Hybrid for a contract Duration: 06-Months initially.

Position Overview
The Design Controls Engineer provides technical and engineering support for design control activities across product development, quality, manufacturing, and project execution. This role requires strong project management, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers. The engineer will support design verification/validation, test method development, risk management, and manufacturing transfer activities for projects of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Design Controls & Product Development
- Ensure full compliance with all Design Controls requirements.
- Develop and source new requirements, create and validate test methods, and generate new risk documentation.
- Perform product testing and document results in alignment with quality and regulatory standards.
- Compile, analyze, and report operational, test, and research data to establish performance specifications for new or modified products, processes, and materials.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all assigned activities.
- Apply FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485 standards.
- Conduct assessments for quality and compliance impacts on product design or process changes.
- Support change management activities (DCA, SCIA, SCAR, PLCP).
Manufacturing & Supplier Coordination
- Support manufacturing transfers between vendors.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to plan and execute engineering and quality projects.
Tools, Fixtures & Test Method Development
- Design and develop tools and fixtures using SolidWorks for test method development and validation.
- Utilize MiniTab for data analysis and troubleshooting.
Project Support
- Support planning and execution of R&D project activities.
- Manage multiple concurrent activities under limited supervision.
- Support additional business requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years, Master’s with 3–6 years, or PhD with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years experience with design controls.
- 5+ years experience working under FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
- Strong experience in design verification & validation activities.
- Experience in test method development, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent activities.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills (assessments, protocols, reports, email).
- Working knowledge of MiniTab and SolidWorks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Led 4+ product design or process change projects.
- 3+ years mechanical design experience.
- Participation in 4+ new product development projects, including product transfer and scale‑up.

Duties and Responsibilities
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Typical duties include:
- Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
- Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.
- Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence.
- Supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
Salary and Benefits
Begin your career as an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) and make up to $85,270 to - $110,846 per year based on your qualifications for the GS-11 grade level and possible extra compensation based on your duty location (see below).

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:
- Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
- Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.
- Developing strategies and coordinating aircraft and ground assets.
- Using information systems and databases to conduct information surveys, queries, update files and disseminate information.

Certification & Ratings: A current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with one of the following ratings:
- Dual Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument rating AND Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
- Airplane Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument.
- Helicopter Rated: Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
- Equivalent military rating of the above at the time of application (eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official orders, forms or logbooks showing their status as a rated military pilot).
Flight Hours: Pilot Enter on Duty minimums are 1500 flight hours; (up to 500 hours can be waived, reducing the pilot enter on duty minimums to 1000 hours.
250 Pilot-in-Command hours; 75 Instrument hours; 75 Night hours (Flight Hour Waiver available, see Required Documents); and 100 Flight hours in the last 12 months This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 5, 2025.
FAA Class 2 medical required for assessment dated within the last 12 calendar months; FAA Class 1, FAA Class 2 or Military medical flight clearance dated within the last 12 months qualifies to start the pre-employment process for the AIA position.
Apply at 750 hours total time: Applicants applying at 750 flight hours are required to obtain at least 1,000 flight hours (depending on the number of hours approved for a waiver) at their own expense before being able to attend the 3-part flight assessment. Applicants must still meet 250 Pilot-in-Command, 75 instrument, and 75-night hours (100 flight hours in the last 12 months. This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 4, 2026)
UAS Flight Hours: Applicants may include UAS Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) flight hours and Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) or predator-based flight hours. These hours may be credited towards satisfying the "Total flight time" 1,500 flight hour requirement only. UAS hours do not count towards the 250 flight hours as a Pilot in Command, 75 flight hours Instrument, and 75 flight hours Night. Flight hour logbooks will be required at the time of your Flight Assessment for verification.

Your Challenge:
Quality Control & Inspection

The EOC Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, revising, monitoring, promoting, and measuring the effectiveness of the hospital’s environment of care (EOC), and safety programs. Ensuring the EOC, and Safety Programs meet DNV/CMS, OSHA, DHS, OSHPD, NFPA, LA County EMSA requirements, and hospital strategic plans. Responsible for coordination of the policy management system and regulatory tracing activities under the direction of the A/L Coordinator.
Licensure and Certification:
• Certification in Life Safety for Healthcare Facilities preferred
Education:
• BS/BA in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or other relevant healthcare degree.
• Equivalent work-related experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience:
• Three (3) year's experience coordinating or overseeing the Environment of Care in a hospital setting.
• Prior experience coordinating a Hospital Environment Safety Program.
A premier motorsports industry leader is seeking a skilled Engine Builder / Automotive Mechanic to support the assembly, maintenance, and optimization of high‐performance racing vehicles and hybrid systems. This role involves building and rebuilding client chassis/vehicles, performing detailed inspections, ensuring quality control, and contributing to peak race‐car performance, reliability, and drivability.
You will also support teardown, inspection, precision measurement of components, and assist in mentoring new team members in proper build procedures and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle & Chassis Assembly: Build and rebuild racing chassis, vehicles, and hybrid systems, including sub‐assemblies and final assemblies.
- Quality Control: Perform detailed inspections on components, document findings, and support corrective action planning.
- Teardown & Inspection: Conduct teardown, inspection, and precise measurement of engine and chassis components.
- Final Fitting & Integration: Carry out final fitting of new or rebuilt parts to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Training & Mentorship: Train new associates in correct procedures, build methods, and quality standards.
- Performance Support: Assist in identifying and resolving chassis/vehicle faults to improve drivability and race‐ready performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, build notes, and component conditions.
Required Experience (5+ Years)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Hands‐on experience focused on automotive and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Training in Automotive Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related field—or certification from a post‐secondary vocational program—is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to perform complex repairs across a wide range of automotive systems.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities and accuracy in identifying mechanical issues.

Opportunity
Skybound is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Systems Designer to help build a thrilling new game franchise. The Senior Systems Designers create rewarding loops that help players set goals, progress, and stay engaged over multiple play sessions. They craft and tune player advancement and rewards across the entire game.
You will collaborate closely with the Game Director, department leads, and cross-disciplinary teams to define and drive the strategic vision for player progression and meta systems. You'll mentor other designers, establish best practices, and ensure the systems design team delivers high-quality, scalable solutions that support both gameplay and business goals.

Reports: This position will report to Game Director.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the vision and execution of player progression, meta systems, and engagement loops across single and multiplayer experiences.
- Define and drive KPIs for progression systems that align with player satisfaction and business goals.
- Mentor and guide systems designers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Own major feature areas from concept through implementation, ensuring quality and consistency across the game.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, art, UX, and production to ensure systems are well-integrated and technically feasible.
- Establish and evangelize best practices for systems design, documentation, and tool usage.
- Anticipate and resolve design challenges, proactively improving workflows and pipelines.
- Playtest and iterate on systems regularly, using data and player feedback to refine and optimize.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the games industry, with a focus on systems design and progression.
- Proven leadership experience, including mentoring designers and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Shipped at least one AAA title with significant ownership of progression or meta systems.
- Deep understanding of player psychology, engagement strategies, and content pacing.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex systems into clear, actionable designs.
- Experience collaborating with engineering on tool development and pipeline optimization.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with fluency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
- Strategic mindset, balancing creative vision with technical and business constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine, including scripting and integration into production pipelines.
- Strong technical scripting skills and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- Passion for combat-oriented games, player progression, and Skybound's unique properties.
Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000
- Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to: market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
