Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management

Qualifications
Required
· Post-secondary education (2- or 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field) or equivalent experience.
· 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or production management environment.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
· Professional, collaborative communication style when working with customers and associates.

Duties and Responsibilities
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Typical duties include:
- Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
- Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.
- Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence.
- Supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
Salary and Benefits
Begin your career as an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) and make up to $85,270 to - $110,846 per year based on your qualifications for the GS-11 grade level and possible extra compensation based on your duty location (see below).
Recruitment Incentive:New hires may be eligible to receive a one-time Recruitment Incentive payout of $10,000 after completing Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC) (1 year service agreement will need to be completed) (Recruitment Incentive is only available to new Federal employees as described in 5 CFR 575.102. Eligibility will be determined by Human Resources.)
Your starting salary will include Special Salary Rate (SSR); Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP); Recruitment Incentive; and Retention Incentive.
This career ladder position has a grade level progression of GS-11, GS-12, and GS-13. You may be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level automatically (without re-applying) once you complete 52 weeks at each grade level (with supervisor approval).

Qualifications
Experience:You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:
- Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
- Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.
- Developing strategies and coordinating aircraft and ground assets.
- Using information systems and databases to conduct information surveys, queries, update files and disseminate information.
- Experience may include Operation of an aircraft as Captain, Pilot in Command, Aircraft Commander, First Officer, Certified Flight Instructor, Second in Command, or Co-pilot.
Hiring Minimums:
Certification & Ratings: A current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with one of the following ratings:
- Dual Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument rating AND Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
- Airplane Rated: Airplane (Single-engine land or multi-engine land) with instrument.
- Helicopter Rated: Rotorcraft Helicopter with instrument rating.
- Equivalent military rating of the above at the time of application (eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official orders, forms or logbooks showing their status as a rated military pilot).
Flight Hours: Pilot Enter on Duty minimums are 1500 flight hours; (up to 500 hours can be waived, reducing the pilot enter on duty minimums to 1000 hours.
250 Pilot-in-Command hours; 75 Instrument hours; 75 Night hours (Flight Hour Waiver available, see Required Documents); and 100 Flight hours in the last 12 months This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 5, 2025.
FAA Class 2 medical required for assessment dated within the last 12 calendar months; FAA Class 1, FAA Class 2 or Military medical flight clearance dated within the last 12 months qualifies to start the pre-employment process for the AIA position.
Apply at 750 hours total time: Applicants applying at 750 flight hours are required to obtain at least 1,000 flight hours (depending on the number of hours approved for a waiver) at their own expense before being able to attend the 3-part flight assessment. Applicants must still meet 250 Pilot-in-Command, 75 instrument, and 75-night hours (100 flight hours in the last 12 months. This qualification requirement is currently being waived by OPM through August 4, 2026)
UAS Flight Hours:Applicants may include UAS Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) flight hours and Predator A (MQ-1), Predator B (MQ-9) or predator-based flight hours. These hours may be credited towards satisfying the ""Total flight time"" 1,500 flight hour requirement only. UAS hours do not count towards the 250 flight hours as a Pilot in Command, 75 flight hours Instrument, and 75 flight hours Night. Flight hour logbooks will be required at the time of your Flight Assessment for verification.
Other Requirements
Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (includes protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
Age Requirement: Provisions of Public Laws 93-350 and 100-238 allow the imposition of a maximum age for initial appointment to a primary Law Enforcement Officer position within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In accordance with DHS Management Directive 251-03, the ""day before an individual's 37th birthday"" is the maximum age for original appointment to a position as a primary law enforcement officer within DHS. Job PurposeProvide effective technical expertise by designing, managing, and implementing equipment solutions, based on requirements of the department’s business plan to ensure company sustainability.
Key Accountabilities• Lead, support and develop effective equipment engineering solutions for safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and environmental improvements to achieve department business plan targets,
• Develop equipment specifications to achieve acceptance criteria, meeting product specifications, while maintaining and improving department characteristics
• Maintain and comply with weld equipment standards to meet regulations that guarantee associate safety and wellness
• Develop capability of self and team through training and mentoring to ensure associate technical skill growth
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet installation targets for production equipment
• Develop Scope of work with key performance indicators to ensure the equipment meets the department’ production targets
• Develop and manage equipment project budgets to achieve cost targets
• Provide technical support to equipment service for developing and implementing effective countermeasures that achieve department targets.
• Share engineering technical knowledge and change points through verbal and written communication to all internal and external customers to strengthen department and plant characteristics.
• Develop, manage and implement the established company e-flow to accomplish business plan targets
• Maintain technical documentation to ensure design intent for long term equipment reliability
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2-8 year Engineering experience based on education
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Experience with Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley or similar controls systems preferred
- Will require standing for long durations of time.
- Able to work in a fast pace production area.
- Able to work in an environment with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- 0-10% travel requirement for training and offsite support as needed.
- Daily, weekly, weekend and holiday overtime is required and will vary.
- Work in production environment requiring PPE and lockout in manufacturing operations.
- Investigation & troubleshooting within equipment to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity.
- Working with hand/power tools, automation equipment, quality gauging and instrumentation.
- 50% office environment/ 50% manufacturing lineside activity.

About this Position:
The Supply Chain Management Operations Department is responsible for the oversight, standardization and technical leadership of the internal material handling operations at the Honda automobile powertrain and final assembly sites across North America. The Process Engineer position is responsible for engineering and executing the internal logistics flow of parts through a specific Honda plant to the production line. This position will be responsible for supporting the development and design of internal material delivery processes, working and communicating with stakeholders, and developing solutions through process analysis, time studies, work balancing, etc.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of processes with production departments and third-party logistic (3PL) companies utilizing engineering tools (MOST, AutoCAD, Visio, QMF, Excel, etc.) required to achieve project and business plan targets.
- Areas of responsibility include manpower planning, process and vanning layout design, expectation sheets development and New Model packaging evaluations
- Identify and implement process improvements in support of business plan objectives and general cost reduction.
- Lead Model SA’s (Situational Analysis) of SCO projects with minor complexity (up to $250,000).
- Identify and lead tasks as prescribed by and maintain Specified Action Plans (SAP). Create and manage SAP’s for projects with limited complexity
- Coordinate with production departments and 3PLs on the investigation of production related issues of significant complexity and coordinate the implementation of countermeasures for complex production related issues.
- Mentor EX1 and EX2 process associates, provide feedback on work output and quality.

- 2+ Years’ of relevant professional engineering experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant expereince

Job PurposeMeet customer expectations by establishing and leading systems that develop, implement, confirm and sustain welding processes which ensure white body structural integrity through New Model and Mass Production to maintain and improve SQCDME characteristics and meet business plan goals.
Key Accountabilities- Lead destruct activity, including training, to confirm equipment and weld quality to prevent shipment of non-conforming product and meet HES (Honda Engineering Standard) requirements.
- Lead, manage and maintain weldability equipment systems and documentation that supports the development and implementation of countermeasures that achieve and improve quality goals and characteristics improvements.
- Provide engineering technical knowledge through comprehension and promotion of HES (Honda Engineering Standard), Specifications, Drawings, and deptartment reporting documentation to ensure compliance.
- Provide Past Problem History of spot weld problem areas in equipment, stackups, gaps, etc. and recommend New Model spec changes to improve characteristics and prevent outflow.
- Confirm stackups and develop countermeasure weld parameters (ie. Squeeze force, current, time, etc..) to meet HES (Honda Engineering Standard) requirements.
- Manage Business Plan through FOG (Future Operational Growth) activity for improvements to ensure delivery and quality targets are met.
- Review drawing data at each drawing event and provide feedback of potential new struggle areas to support New Model development activity to improve manufacturability.
- Lead, evaluate, investigate and make proposals of specs for welding equipment needs (in the areas of new equipment, consumables, welding hardware, spare parts, Preventive Maintenance and inspection technologies) and act as a liaison between the department and vendors to ensure the department meets quality, delivery and cost requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with other facilities to coordinate North America or global weld activity to adopt best practices.
- Develop, manage and implement the established Company E-Flow to accomplish Business Plan Targets.
- Develop self and team through technical training, mentoring, and sharing of experience for team growth.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2 years engineering experience
- OR Associate's Degree in Engineering and 6 years engineering experience
- OR High School Diploma and 8 years engineering experience
- 2-8 years of welding, equipment engineering and/or robotics engineering experience
