How You’ll Make An Impact As our Diesel/heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will perform skilled maintenance and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related components across a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

You will ensure reliability, safety, and performance through thorough diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair activities both in-shop and in the field.

Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems on company vehicles and heavy equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, tune-ups, and system inspections to ensure peak performance.

Utilize diagnostic software such as JPRO or JALTEST to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Repair hydraulic components like pumps, valves, and cylinders used in utility and construction equipment.

Conduct welding, fabrication, and component replacement as needed.

Perform field repairs and mobile maintenance for breakdowns when required.

Document all maintenance and repair work in fleet management systems accurately.

Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards in all tasks.

Maintain organized work areas, tools, and shop equipment.

Primary Purpose of Position

Performs advanced regulatory/licensing/technical problem solving and provides analysis/insights in support of department, nuclear plant and fleet regulatory activities. Responsible for regulatory/technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations as well as Constellation licensing and regulatory processes.

Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines save lives, over 2,600 lives.

Collins York is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will operate CNC lathes , mills, grinders, and other specialized equipment to convert raw materials into precision semi-finished goods. You will also perform finish work and marking on piece parts at various stages of production. All work is done in a clean, climate controlled facility where we put safety and quality first in everything we do.

What You Will Do:

• You will operate CNC lathes , mills, grinders and other specialized CNC and manual equipment and/or perform finish work and marking of piece parts in various stages of production.

• You will be expected to set-up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision semi-finished goods within print tolerance specification.

• You will be required to obtain inspection certification through on-the-job training & testing.

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:00 AM

Training Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for ~90 days.

Major Purpose: Ensure all equipment in the facility is well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently daily. This role requires proficiency in Preventive Maintenance tasks and skills in Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Mechanical systems. Must be able to safely operate forklifts while following Versatex's Best Practices and SOPs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct scheduled product quality in-process inspections and process audits in accordance with Standards of Work using defined equipment, tools, and techniques.
• Maintain detailed and accurate quality records; analyze quality data for trends and communicate accordingly.
• Manage and execute QMS procedures including First Article Inspections, Process & Product Audits, Control and Containment of Nonconforming Product, and Tool & Equipment Calibration.
• Document and report product nonconformances to established specifications and standards.
• Participate in CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions) efforts to prevent recurrence of defects.
• Maintain calibration of measuring and test equipment according to the defined schedule.
• Escalate quality and/or compliance concerns to Operations, Engineering, and Management teams.
• Perform in-process and critical-to-quality audits to ensure compliance with product standards.
• Audit product labeling, packaging, and preservation to ensure compliance with established work instructions.
• Assist with implementing and managing changes to the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Provide 1:1 and group training for Production and Support Associates.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other Quality Associates to support continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
• Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies, including PDCA, 5-Whys, Fishbone, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred.
• Proficiency in using handheld measuring tools, reading technical drawings, quality documents, and standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Effective communication, organizational, and delivery skills.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn quality management system software applications.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.

• CNC Machinist capable of running both Lathes and Mills
