Position Overview

A growing chemical manufacturing organization is seeking a Plant Manager to lead all aspects of operations at its production facility. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering production targets in a highly regulated environment. The Plant Manager will oversee production, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives while building a high-performing team and culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics
  • Drive production planning and execution to meet customer demand and business objectives
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Maintain adherence to GMP, ISO, and other relevant industry regulations
  • Lead audits, inspections, and corrective action initiatives
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and reliability-centered maintenance initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize operational costs
  • Implement KPIs and performance metrics to track and improve plant performance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team including production, engineering, and maintenance personnel
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with HR on hiring, training, and performance management
  • Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements
  • Ensure reliability and uptime of critical manufacturing equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on process optimization and scale-up initiatives
  • Manage plant budget, including operating expenses and capital expenditures
  • Align plant operations with company strategic goals and growth initiatives
  • Provide regular reporting on plant performance, risks, and opportunities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required and MBA is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations within biotech, food, specialty chemical environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing plant or production teams
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance, and safety standards
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements and leading teams
  • Background in scaling production processes or supporting new product commercialization
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with field superintendents and foremen
  • Manage RFIs, change orders, and scope adjustments
  • Maintain strong client and vendor relationships
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Provide executive-level reporting to leadership

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Mechanical Project Management experience
  • Strong background in HVAC, piping, plumbing, hydronics, or sheet metal systems
  • Experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical scopes
  • Strong financial acumen and cost control experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
